Our Awesome Planet Blog Traffic

By

First, I would like to thank all my readers for constantly following my adventures and for referring my blog site to other people. I had a fun time blogging for the past 16 months and I’m glad that people appreciate some of the posts. I have constantly tracked my blog traffic via statcounter and last May was an all time high of 22,285 unique visitors in a month. That would be almost 700 visitors in a day mostly referred by google or organically referred by other blogs or loyal readers. I’m still planning to create a summary link or index page so that first time visitors can easily find contents in my blog.

One of my reasons for blogging is to showcase the Philippines as a tropical paradise and hopefully inspire people to appreciate our country a little bit more. Also, I do hope that I inspired other people to blog their adventures as well and as a token of appreciation, sharing with you some of my blogging secrets targeted to those people who want to start up their own blog about the Philippines or travel in general.

I’m continuing to hone my skills on travel writing and travel photography and one of these days I do hope to accomplish my dream of having my works published in printed media. I’m planning to sell my photos about the Philippines and start up my own Stock Photography pool dedicated to the tropical paradise of the Philippines. Lastly, I’m still dreaming about self publishing my book ” Our Awesome Planet: Philippines ” and I’m starting to look for sponsors to help me with it.

Thanks again, and please do let me know if you have any suggestions on how I can further improve my blog. It is not perfect but it is a start of hopefully something bigger.

  1. i enjoy reading your blog, but sometimes your little grammatical errors bug me (in recent entries: “stucked,” etc). i’d like to think that you’re just in a hurry to share your info so you have some small mistakes. other than that, i do love the high quality images you provide with your entries. keep up the good work with the blog–i get a lot of tips and ideas for places to visit around the country.

  2. thanks! yeah, sorry for the gramatical errors, and I’ll try to improve it. When I blog, I just put what ever is in my mind without consideration for grammar. I need to find an editor or a friend for a second pair of eyes to correct the grammar.

  3. You should check out W3Counter. At your level of traffic, StatCounter’s 100 visitor log means all the “detailed stats” are based on just a fraction of a day. You can’t learn anything from that – the sample’s too small to be representative of where people come from and what they do on your site. W3Counter’s reports are based on more than 250 times more data and are still free.

  4. I will be looking forward to your book in case you decided to push through with it. I’m sure it will be a hit. And maybe after that you can do a book on restaurant guide in the philippines as well. hehe. keep blogging!
