The Good Burger

By

If you are looking for the best Vegetarian Burgers in the Metro, get it from Good Burgers! The vegetarian patties are made from wheat and soya and it tasted like luncheon meat. I’m glad it is not made from glutten which is sometimes slimmy in texture that makes me not want to eat the food. They also serve chicken patty for those who would like to be healthy and still get a taste of the real meat. This literally hole in the wall establishment along C5 in front of Tiendesitas and the new SM Hypermarket, have been existing for almost 6 years.

Thanks to one of my vegetarian readers, George Ramos for this tip. He described it as “The Best Vegetarian gourmet burgers in the World!!” He recommends the Garlic BBQ and Mexican Salsa. Best of all, the burgers are affordable at P50-75 for a “good” single patty and P75-P100 pesos for a “best” double patty. Almost the same price when you buy your burgers at the usual hamburger joint. The only issue here is where to eat your just bought burger. It is either you eat it outside their kitchen or in your car. As you can see from the first photo, rightmost part is where you will have your table. Correct! Too hot! But you can call in advance to order your burger so that you can just pick it up ala drive through along C5 🙂 But be sure to get it when you do order or else, the staff in charge might pay for it or maybe somebody will not get a fresh cooked burger! That would just be to bad.

Don’t you think they should have a stall in Makati? I’m sure they won’t be able to manage the demand there. If you happen to know who owns this place, let me know. We need to support, acknowledge and give thanks to establishments like this! This is indeed a great find and this should be included in the list of good vegetarian place in Metro Manila.

The kitchen is simple and its a one-man operation which reminds me of the burger machine stalls we see along the streets. She was very friendly even when I asked if I can go in and take pictures of the kitchen. She also took time to explain to me the different burgers since it was my first time to visit their store and eat there. It was good a good timing that there was no line queue so she was able to accomodate me.

I tried the margherita burger which is their newest burger. It consists of yummy roasted tomato, fresh basil leaves, mozzarella, and lots of grated cheese. With the gooey mozzarella, eating it feels like eating a pizza. I wanted to try the silly burger which is composed of chopped siling labuyo, garlic, sour cream and cheese but I needed to have space for dinner so will just get it next time around.

This is the chicken patty vs. the round vegetarian patty that looks, feels and taste like luncheon meat.

Yummy Vegetarian burger indeed! Highly recommended for dieters and healthy eaters out there! Or even to those who are adventerous when it comes to eating!

Grabe, I forgot to recommend this place before. 🙂 Armi and Darah Consunji own the place. They used to have another branch in front of Ateneo de Manila but Armi had to leave for Thailand. Do you still want to contact them? BTW, nice of you to mention me in the In-Yo article. Happy eating!

  2. I’ve tried their burgers 2 yrs ago. Great Burgers! Although service was horrible. They used to have delivery – (I’m not sure if they do til now) and we ordered delivery twice and twice we had to argue for them to deliver since they were offering free delivery. The person taking our order was the same person cooking our food and apparently the same person who will deliver our food. He said we had to wait til closing time before they could deliver the food or else no one would man the store. Since then, we never ordered from GB’s. They should have a staff of at least 2 to be able to provide good service.

  3. Hi anton, happy to know you loved the burgers:) I apologize for any lapses in service, i am working on beefing up our staff back to a full crew of 3, 4 including me. At the moment, i am working with only 2, with the resignation of one of our riders. Although our delivery service is still informal, at the moment we are offering it to our pasig area patrons who’ve requested for this service (yes, it’s free!). As soon as our delivery service is formalized, I would be sending out flyers and setting up a big streamer on our store. I am currently working on putting up another outlet- i shall be updating people on that when everything is in place. Thanks you for the very encouraging comments:) For any suggestions i could be reached through email: dconsunji@yahoo.com 🙂

  4. i tried this for the first time last night, i chanced upon the stall when i was going home from work. the burger was yummy! i think i ordered the BLT veggie burger, but got the bacon mozza melt instead, haha! nevertheless, i enjoyed it. now i don’t feel so guilty eating burgers. 🙂

  5. I like Good Burger a lot. I’ve been to both outlets (GH & C5). I like the fact that they take orders for pick-up coz it saves me a lot of time. I usually call 15-20 mins away & when I reach the store at C5 it is ready. I also had the chance to meet the father of the owner at GH a couple of months back, I told him that I am a regular patron of their C5 branch. He also introduced me to her daughter the owner (though I don’t think she would remember me). Actually, I just saw her last Wednesday night when I was eating there with a friend. Too bad though that their delivery doesn’t reach my place, it is actually just 500 meters away De Castro Subdivision in Pasig where they do deliver. By the way, my Indian friend loves your burgers as well. He always asks me to buy one for him before proceeding to the office. Anyways, I do hope you set up a store at Makati or if you do accept franchizing let me know…

  6. I’ve been eating Good Burger for 6 years already!
Since I live near, I buy there most of the time.
    And as a half-vegetarian, I LOVE THIS PLACE! 🙂
My personal favorite would definitely be the Three Cheese Best Burger. 🙂
I wish though they would have a Vegetarian BETTER Patty!
They have a new location now, in Kapitolyo, near Three Sisters.
The also have a branch in Greenhills, near Globe. 🙂
