[Legaspi Village Cafes #1] AZURE CAFE, Coffee, Pastries, Pastas, Paninis

We usually visit Makati Med for Rache’s OB check up and this started my quest to explore the best Legaspi Village Cafes. I heard about Azure a long time ago because of its one-of-a-kind adobo pasta and the chocnut shake. When you enter this small cafe owned by Dely Fernandez, you will be greeted by welcoming smiles amidst decoration of lighthouses, boat wheels, anchors and oars. One thing we love about the Makati Cafes is that the prices are P200 or less and it is inclusive of VAT and service charges. These cafes are not threatening and you can come as you are without inviting stares from people.

I also love to blog about these cafe gems in Makati because often times they are neglected. These places serves good food at reasonable prices and with a welcoming atmosphere like a neighborhood store. You should really try their Adobo Pasta if you are a foodie ๐Ÿ™‚

Country Vegetable Soup (P70). Loved this soup! It was light and tasty and not oily. No, we didn’t get thirsty after.

Grilled Tanique (P210). Was hesitant to order this but glad we did! It was one of the Specials of the Day. It was tender and very tasty! Another rice please..

Adobo Pasta (P180). The specialty pasta of the house and definitely a one of a kind filipino pasta! You have to try this delicious mix of adobo sauce with itlog na pula and tomato toppings.

Chocnut Shake. Too sweet and carbo overload for me but Aidan surely loved this! He was the one who finished all of it. That’s why he was hyperactive that afternoon. Good thing, we went home after this lunch of ours.

  1. Hmmm. I’m going to Makati Med on Friday. This Adobo Pasta is a MUST-try! Thanks for the tip and I hope your toe is better ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Yay thanks!!I work in Legazpi Village too but I’ve never been to the two places you mentioned! Will add ’em to my must try. You can also check out Cafe A-go-go on Salcedo street, and Swagat on Rada.:D

  3. I’ve never tried Azure, either. That adobo pasta is intriguing! I don’t see any adobo on it, though, but if it has lots of red egg, then I’ll probably like it.
I agree with Char — Cafe-a-Go-Go (very near Makati Med!) is an old favorite for everyone who works in the area. Cozy, charming, good panini, and good coffee from Coffee Experience (I like the coffee mixed with tsokolate). Quite tight and crowded at lunchtime, though. And Swagat is my choice for cheap Indian food — they have many interesting items you won’t find in the others.

  4. Katrina, I could have written that post! Get out of my head! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Seriously, Cafe a Gogo was a big part of my working life in Makati. It was just down the street from where I used to work. And don’t even get me started on Swagat! Just thinking about that restaurant sends me salivary glands on overtime. Ugh I want bhel puri now.
Where I work now, we’re pretty isolated with only a few choice restaurants just outside the compound and MOA a short but kakatamad drive away. So it’s become a habit to order in or bring our lunch to work.

  5. Natawa ako sa comment mo na “we don’t get tasty after”. I think what you just mean is that there’s no MSG with the soup ๐Ÿ™‚ Good to hear that especially for people with allergies ๐Ÿ™‚
Where’s the pasta in the Adobo pasta? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ And why kaya, very special? ๐Ÿ™‚ Is it because the ingredients are more or the quantity is more? Hehe.

  6. I consider myself a frequent client of Azure Cafe. And true, I have ordered, enjoyed and would love to order given another day, the adobo pasta. It is truly one of a kind.
What you didn’t see in the photo are the tasty adobo flakes that are crisp and so good to the palate. It features slices of green mango as well, that would tease your taste buds and wonder, why I didn’t think that the ever versatile adobo could go so well with pasta. Thanks Anton for trying out what I consider, one of my favorite foodie place in Makati. I’m feeling hungry again…

  7. You can also try New Bombay at the ground floor of The Columns. It used to be in De La Costa St, was there for several years in fact.
