Toast Box opens in Trinoma!

Finally, Toast Box opens in Manila! I’m so excited because ever since My Kaya Addiction post a year ago, I have been waiting for these Kaya chains from Singapore to open here in Manila. Toast Box is a sister company of Bread Talk and their first store opens in Trinoma in the Main Lobby (beside Gourdo’s). I think they just opened last September 1 in Trinoma and the second branch will be in Robinsons Manila.

This is definitely something worth driving all the way to Trinoma. Congratulations to Trinoma for their grand opening today! It is a lot better now but still as crowded as Mall of Asia on a weekend or public holiday. You just have to put up with the crazy parking design.

I liked the Toast Box kaya toast because of its different flavors like the honey kaya. Ya Kun Kaya Toast is the most popular one in Singapore and I wonder if they will open here. Can you see the mountain of butter they use for the kaya toast?

We had a mistake of having Aidan to drink coffee. He almost finished one cup of kopi.

I can’t distinguish the difference between Toast Box’s kaya and Kopi Roti’s Kaya toast. One good thing about Toast box is that there are other available items aside from the kaya in the menu. I still love kaya toast but I think I’m over the addiction. I don’t crave for it anymore.

I’m not used to eating soft boiled eggs like this.

Mee Siam was my top 7 in this post: [Singapore #1] Makan Food Trip – My Top 10 Favorites!. It is a sweet and spicy noodle soup with a tangy taste from the kalamansi. It is like eating palabok with soup that taste like tom yung. BTW, they also serve Laksa and they run out of it when we ordered.

Toasted Bread with Pork Crumbs. This is one of the popular breads in bread talk.

I remembered Anton Lim for giving me some of these Toast Box kaya treats a year ago. I’m glad they are now available in Manila.

  1. Now, there’s a mountain I’d love to climb! 😉
I hear their French Toast is also good. I hope they open in Makati!

  2. This brings back memories of Sunday breakfast with me and my wife back in KL. There was a kopitiam downstairs our condo that makes really good Kaya Toast and Kopi-O.
I hope Toast Box opens early morning for breakfast, too.
How do they toast the bread? In KL, they do it over a grill and not a bread toaster.

  3. Robinsons Manila? 🙂 Would you know when they will open in Manila? 🙂 And if they’re taking over the previous stall of Gonuts Donuts?

  4. Is it me or does the link “drinks and main dishes” really lead to your early post re: Singapore Food?
I am scared of kaya and butter but I love French Toast..wala bang bite size to try lang? hehehe 🙂

  5. hi anton, been reading your blog for awhile.
i tried toastbox already and WOW! i totally LOVE it. it’s so much better than kopi roti. hands down.

  6. I tried Toast Box two weeks ago on my way home. The kaya is ok, but I prefer the pandan infused kaya I received recently. I like the thickness of the french toast though, with the two boiled eggs and the large glass of milk tea. I do want to go back to try their laksa.

  7. toast box rocks! i love the coffee and their best-seller (in singapore) which is the peanut butter toast which they cut up in cute little toasty squares! the mordor mount of butter is scarily mesmerizing! this is my comfort cafe in singapore! i’m so glad we’re seeing some interesting foodie places in manila. i just wish toast box (and the genuine pepper lunch — referring to your previous post on sizzlin’ steaks) hit makati malls sooooon.

  8. My hubby and I tried it two days ago and the kaya toasts are quite addicting. We ended up eating 3 slices aside from the laksa we ordered. Will definitely be going back.

  9. I’m a Kaya Toast Addict. Ü Thank you Anton for posting this one! Good luck and God bless to Rache! I hope the delivery goes well, sana walang complications. Congratulations! Ü You and your family are always in my prayers. Ü

  10. Ye! ToastBox is far better than Kopi Roti. They have great food and I love their service, I do wish they open somewhere in the south. I love their Laksa and Nasi Lemak! It’s like I’m back in Singapore!

  11. i had a kaya addiction din. hehe. i even bought two jars in malaysia! but strangely when i got home parang ayaw ko na kainin. the two bottles rotted away in my ref 🙁

  12. So glad that Toast Box is finally here in Manila! I was just there this afternoon 🙂 My favorite is their laksa, but I’m also quickly getting addicted to their kaya toast. I also like their mee siam, though I always need a second person to help me finish it.

  13. I hope Ya Kun Kaya Toast will open a store here.. I was quite disappointed with Toast Box.. Too much butter in their toast that I can’t taste the jam.
But I must say that their Kopi-C was very rich in flavor.. Might go back there to try their Laksa.

  14. Hi All, Ya Kun Kaya Toast has just opened its flagship outlet in Manila Airport Terminal 2 transit area! Very crowded! They’ve taken over the space formerly occupied by Nescafe.
Their kaya toast, eggs and drinks taste better because they are the top brand in Singapore. I believe they will open more outlets in Malls in Makati soon.
Must try if you happen to be there!

  15. im glad my father’s business is doing well! WOOT! im in singapore and i still have not seen the new opened outlet in manila.. cant wait to check it out!
    cheers!

  16. I’d really love to get in touch with them for a possible feature. Would you know where i can contact them? 🙂 Thanks!

  17. hi anton,i’m always reading your blog and it’s like my fairy godfather who gives idea on what is good for you and not…just like the food and resto’s you feature….more blogs…more foods and thoughts from you.

  18. I was in Hongkong last month and I saw ToastBox at Olympian City, a shopping mall. But in Manila, I heard they’ll be opening in Megamall this November. It will be at the expansion wing of Megamall called Mega Atrium, 3rd floor to be specific. Much closer! 🙂

  19. I love Kaya Toast! I also have a Kaya addiction ever since I first tasted it in Singapore’s Toast Box last September 🙂 I’m hooked! Glad that they have a Trinoma store already!

  20. I think Toast Box has the best kaya toast in Manila. I like how they toast the bread just right, crispy but still soft. I don’t like it when it’s too crunchy, the bread loses its taste. I also like their kopi melaka drink, sweet, but very good. 🙂

  21. @ToastBox Makati branch 2 saturday ago……. coffee is just the same great taste i always look forward to when in Singapore… the food… i had the feeling that the laksa noodle served to me was just sitting in one corner of their kitchen waiting to be called off…have to ask the server to reheat it…. chix hainanese is good enough…. and the service… what a bunch of untrained staff…. sorry… but i was really disappointment… hope the next trip to Toast Box Makati will have a lot more improved service and food serving…
