Kape Isla, Serendra – a Blogger’s Secret Haven in Serendra

By

Kape Isla-1
Kape Isla is turning out to be our favorite bloggers’ hangout in Serendra. They have all the elements to enable a blogger to be productive:

FREE WI-FI. They are the only FREE WI-FI in Serendra. Internet access should be FREE! I don’t understand why establishments continue to charge a fee to have internet access.

Good Advocacy. Kape Isla promotes Philippine Coffee. So every time you drink a cup of coffee, you support the Philippine Coffee Bean industry.

Writer’s Ambiance. On weekdays, you can have all the cafe to yourself. Most people go here to write, to study or to surf the internet. I want to promote Kape Isla a bit so that it does not close down.

For less than P100, you can enjoy Kape Isla all day long. However, they should have a killer dessert or meal to attract people to visit their place.
Kape Isla Menu
Hot Drinks, Coffee, Pandesal, Pasta, Salad, Rice Meals
House Specialties, Bars, Cookies, Loaves, Danishes and Cakes

  1. thanks for sharing this anton! been thinking of finding a place to hangout and surf the net somewhere in boni high or serendra…. 🙂
we’ll patronize, hope its not gonna close… 😀

  2. “they should have a killer dessert or meal to attract people to visit their place” … oh maybe i can help in their kitchen haha. I love coffee! I agree, they must have killer desserts and complement those with the Philippine coffee.

  3. I’ve been hearing about this (I think my dad knows one of the owners) and have even tried their coffee (they gave free brewed coffee to Namfrel), but have never been to the actual cafe. They seemed always to be empty — I think they suffer from being in a less visible location — so the free WiFi is a good come-on. But you’re right, they also ought to have something good to eat. Some of the dishes on the menu, like the Lasagna Caldereta and Laing Pasta, sound very interesting. Have you tried any of their food?
Thanks for blogging about this. It’s good to know where there’s free WiFi.

  4. Cool… will check this out soon.
I always end up at Texas Roadhouse for free wifi. I do enjoy drinking beer while blogging but maybe its time to try out coffee for a change 🙂

  5. where is this place exactly, i have so many friends in manila who are writers and coffee junkies, i can recommend this place

  6. Is this the same coffee resto that used to be in Megamall strip? or is the Megamall branch still there?

  7. i’m always in serendra and I dont think i’ve seen kape isla. where is it near?
i love free wifi, that’s why we’re always at A Different Bookstore. But I want to try local coffee at kape isla.
    thanks

  8. please try their bibingka at kape isla – wonderful presentation!
p.s. – check out chef’s bistro – new place in morato area (scout gandia, behind citibank savings); small menu but they just opened last thursday.:.
p.p.s. i want an umbrella too! hehehehehehe

  9. i just discovered KAPE ISLA last week, it’s actually been open for quite a while. The first thing i noticed was the free wi-fi sign…..great coffee but the food was just so-so. it’s beside guava on the driveway facing market market!

  10. I agree that Serendra is a writer’s haven. Although, as said, most places do not offer free wi-fi…
Hmmm…there is something about Fort Bonifacio that just inspires people to share their stories -very calm and artsy. My favorite place though is Starbucks at the third level of Fully Booked at High Street. The glass window allows me to do people-watching while viewing the serene surroundings.
Even as I hail from the East, I completely agree that Fort is “home of the passionate minds.”
For free wi-fi at Fort, you may want to go to Paul Calvin (I know you’ve been there, Anton!). For the ambience (hope that they have free wi-fi soon), go to Numa Tea Salon at the same strip.
Another place which would inspire any writer is Kozui in Tomas Morato (and yes, they do have free wi-fi). I think Baang Coffee in the same area and Coffee Bean offer free wi-fi.

  11. Up to what time are they open on weekdays? I’ve been looking for somewhere to do some after-class studying and it looks like a quiet enough place. It certainly has a more calm ambiance than the chain stores like Starbucks, Seattle’s, and CBTL.

It certainly has a more calm ambiance than the chain stores like Starbucks, Seattle’s, and CBTL. Not to mention I like my coffee as having more coffee and less milk.

  14. Ive been looking for a new coffee shop so I would definitely try this one. And it’s nice that they provide free wi-fi! =)
