My Miele Guide votes
” The Miele Guide will be Asia’s first truly independent regional restaurant guide when launched in October 2008, and also its most authoritative—we do not accept free meals or advertising from restaurants. Written by food lovers who know and love Asia, The Miele Guide will rank and profile restaurants across the region’s major cities, categorised by country, city and cuisine, in a slim, indispensable volume. ” (www.mieleguide.com)

The Miele Guide is now in their second phase where the public can vote their best restaurants this month May 2008. I don’t really believe that Miele Guide is 100% independent because they are sponsored by Visa and Hyatt Hotels. In order for you to vote, you need to key in your Visa card. I’m sure Visa and Hyatt would have a say on the judges, restaurant critics and respected foodies who would vote in the other phases. In any case, I participated in the online voting and I had to make sure that Claude Tayag’s Bale Dutung and Chef Chris Locher’s C Italian Dining are included in the list.

I’m campaigning for the top 3 finest restaurants in the Philippines. (You are only allowed to vote for 3 restaurants per country)

Antonio-1
Antonio’s Restaurant in Tagaytay

Bale Dutung - 50
Claude Tayag’s Bale Dutung in Pampanga

C Italian Dining-20
C’s Italian Dining in Angeles, Pampanga.

Please VOTE for them to be included in the MieleGuide.com !

  1. Anton,
U really think Chef Escalante’s food is better than Chef Ariel Manuel of Lolo Dads? 🙂
    i agree with C italian Cuisine….

  2. I’ve tried Antonio’s & C’Italian in Angeles.
We are C’s suki actually. Love, love their panizzas.
But where is Claude Tayag’s Bale Dutung??????

  3. Off topic:
By the way Anton, wait until you’ve tried the Sans Rival from Farmacia Reyes in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija that I was telling you about!

  4. Well Lolo Dad’s is also in my top 10 but when I was forced to choose the top 3, I still think Antonio’s overall (food, ambiance, service) beats Lolo Dad’s.
Bale Dutung is in Angeles Pampanga.
Haven’t tried the Farmacia Reyes Sans Rival. I have not been to Nueva Ecija.

  5. Hi Anton! I am with you regarding Antonio’s. The food, ambience and service are consistently flawless on the many occasions that I dined there. That place holds a lot of good memories for me so I really hope it makes the list. Although I believe Lolo Dad’s should be on that list too…

  6. Yup, I agree with you bro when it comes to Antonio’s. The service is par excellence, the ambience, the ambience, the ambience and yeah the food is great too!
Keep up the good work Anton!

  7. Thanks for posting this Anton. Chef Antonio place is definitely one of the best. But Chef Ariel Manuel’s Lolo Dad’s cannot be ignored by any serious foodie. My third choice…still debating that one. 🙂

  8. Anton,
If I am in Angeles, Pampanga and I ask where Bale Dutung is, would people like in gas stations know? Sorry, I’m desperate! 🙂
