  3. Our family of 6 just came from Pagudpud. Checked-in 1 night sa Northview Hotel Laoag on Friday, June 6. We were given 1 room to accomodate all of us. May kasamang complimentary breakfast for 2 and free use of their swimming pool.
Should you want a package tour to Vigan/Laoag/Pagudpud, get in touch with Jason Edu. His van can accomodate 8. 7,500.00 package ang charge niya. Kung manggaling kayo sa laoag, ibabalik kayo doon. His tel. Nos are 09156814090 or 09219820167.
In Pagudpud, we stayed in Villa Mar Ivory Resort. Beach Front Cottage for 6, with TV, Ref, and veranda overlooking the beach from where you can view the beautiful sunset. Wala lang hot shower.
If there are only 2 of you, try to call Rene, the trike driver in Pagudpud. He will bring you around. You can reach him at 09206532047. Should you want to go to Blue Lagoon and Kabigan Falls, be in comfortable outfits. walking slippers dapat coz you have to wade on water. you can already put on your swimwear. Puede magswim sa kabigan falls. Kaya lang wala pagbibihisan. Magdadry na rin ang clothes mo pabalik. 40 minutes ang trek back to the parking lot.

  4. Last week we stayed in POLARIS at SAUD BEACH, and it was HORRIBLE. Good thing we decided to leave the place early and go to Blue Lagoon located at Gaoa, Pagudpud. We rode a trike in front of Bingbong’s restaurant to AGUA SEDA BEACH HOUSE. I LOVED THE PLACE SOOOOO MUCH. I highly recommend this to everyone who are planning to go to Pagudpud. Please please just go straight to Blue Lagoon, don’t go to Saud Beach because there are too much seaweeds in Saud. Click this link to find out more about Agua seda, i can’t wait to go back. http://www.friendster.com/aguaseda

  5. My family and I went to Pagudpud last June 5, 2008.
We got there by bus. As a tip for those commuters like us, there’s a trip from Manila straight to Pagudpud. You an take Florida Bus (they also have CR in ther bus, so there will be no problem in case you need to go ito 1). they have daily trips, they depart Mnaila at 930pm. There conductors& drivers are ver nice also, they endorse us sa kakilala nilang tricycle driver sa Pagudpud.
Our tricycle driver-cum-tour guide’s KUYA ART, his tricycle has a # 028 on it and his celfone # 09108465905. After we rested for a while in the resort where we styaed, he gave us a tour of Pagudpud. We went to the Kabigan Falls, Patapat Viaduct, Blue Lagoon Beach- a white sand beach also ( where you can view the Dos Hermanos Island, Timmangtang Rock & Bantay Abot Caves, you can take pics here, Kuya Art will guide you & wait for you. All these for 600 pesos. But we paid 1,200 coz’ we also went to see Bangui Windmills & Cape Bojeadour Lighthouse (they are 2 towns outside Pagudpud & somewhat far). We went to all of these places in one day.
By the way, we stayed at Polaris Beach House, a simple & neat place, near Saud Beach. The owner, Ms. Mean and her staffs are very accomodating & hospitable. You can contact her at09193078803.

  6. Hi All!
My friend and I are heading to Pagudpud in September via plane to Laoag City. We too would like to go to Vigan but we are pressed for time. We arrive at 7pm in Laoag on a Saturday and leave for Manila at 8pm on a Monday.
I need help with how much pocket money we should bring, where to go first (Laoag–Vigan or Pagudpod?), route we should be taking to get there?
Based on the inputs on this site I have an initial plan on how we can maximize our time and go to most, if not all the places, in both Ilocos Norte and Ilocus Sur.
Day 1 (Arrival in Laoag 7pm)
*Check in a nearby holel in Laoag and buy the pasalubongs)
Day 2 (Early Morning at around 6am)
    *Check out of the hotel
*Do the Land tour (Bangui Windmills, Cape Bojeadour Lighthouse, Kabigan Falls, Patapat Viaduct, Blue Lagoon Beach)
*In the evening (6pm) Check in one of the many resorts in Saud beach.
Day 3 (Early Morning at around 6am)
    * Check out
    * Leave for Vigan
    * Be back to Laoag at 6pm and head back to Manila.
Is this plan a little bit too ambitious or expensive? Or is the route we’re going to take reasonable? Please help me chart our course. Suggestions and recommendations will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  7. my brothers and I along wd our cousins are planning to have a 3days 2nights vacation in pagudpud by air..manila flight will arrive at laoag at past 7pm..we intend to go blue lagoon directly. is it advisable to go past 8pm to saud beach or blue lagoon? from what ive read in so many posts,i think going to blue lagoon will pass thru a small forest which is quite far from the highway..will there be available transport during this time? or wud you recommend that we stay ovrnight in a hotel in laoag?
can you suggest places where we can stay? clean and cheaper..where dyu think is best to stay in pagudpud? along saud beach or blue lagoon?
need to plan this coz some friends coming from abroad will be joining ou trip..
    thanksee ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Hi Nikki,
You can contact this number to fetch you from the airport, tour you around Pagudpud including Saud White Beach, Bangui Windmills, Lanao Mountain Resort, Kabigan Falls, Burgos Light House and White Rocks Beach. Also, you can request to go see Patapat Viaduct which is not far away from Blue Lagoon and Agua Grande. We just opened our Punta Azul Beach Resort where ABS CBN crew for Trip Na Trip stayed. Another group of international TV crews left the other day and stayed there overnight.
This resort is our vacation house but since we are out of the country, we are renting it out just like a condo. You will absolutely like the place. While lying in bed, you have a view of the ocean and the verdant hills around. Complimentary breakfast is served. Hot and cold water is available. Towels are provided for free as well as soap.
Rest assured you feel the comfort of your own home while on vacation.

  9. You can contact this numbers 09159890501-william and/ or 09187569717-julius, to tour you around Pagudpud including Saud White Beach, Bangui Windmills, Kabigan Falls, Burgos Light House and White Rocks Beach. Also, you can request to go see Patapat Viaduct which is not far away from Blue Lagoon, Agua Grande, Kapuluan Vista Resort, Bantay abot Cave and Dos Hermanos Island.

  10. hi, wer planning to go pagudpod/laoag via plane on Oct 2nd.i need to know w/c is the best place to stay, i heard blue lagoon is beautiful so i need to know how to go there when we arrived at laoag. Or is there any suggestion aside from that place? thanks in advance

  11. PAgudpud really awesome and affordable! Contact Kuya Amor for the whole Pagudpud tour of just 1K! plus you can get to stay at aplace for just 500/ day good for 4 people! Saud beach is just a 3 minute walk away…. it was a turlly amaizing experience contact them at 09085370343 for the tryke (that the cheapest way to go around town) and Manang Dolor 09218525973 for the house stay….

  12. To KENDRA (and everyone who plan to go on a trip up North)
    Here are a few suggestions:
Day 1 (Arrival in Laoag 7pm)
*Check in a nearby hotel in Laoag. Since you’ll be out most of the time, opt for small hotels. I can suggest Texicano Hotel (request for a room in the Annex Building or, if you have the budget for it, the Fernando Poe Jr. Room: it’s the room he always stayed in whenever visiting Laoag.) The location of this hotel is just right because it’s a stone’s throw away from the city’s center. You can walk to the city square at night at have some famous empanada or longganiza.
Day 2 (Early Morning at around 6am)
Tour up north to the places you mentioned. Pick a nice resort in Saud. If you can, Maraira may have new resorts already. That would be better.
Be sure to leave early. Try 5am perhaps?
Day 3 (Early Morning at around 6am)
    * Check out
    * Leave for Vigan
    * Be back to Laoag at 6pm and head back to Manila.
This third day itinerary is just as good.
I hope you will enjoy your trip. I’ll be very glad to help if you need any more queries.

  13. mas magiging ok siguro kung wag nang bumalik ng laoag sa last day ng agenda niyo. me mga buses din naman na manggagaling ng vigan pabalik ng maynila.
try nyong gawin na ang agenda niyo is PABABA ng mapa, from pagudpud, down to vigan..and don’t forget the malacanang of the north and the paoay church both in paoay, ilocos norte.. the remains of the late ferdinand marcos in batac city.. try also the beaches in Currimao, Ilocos Norte..
I am from ilocos sur at kahit taga roon ako marami pang lugar doon na worth visiting na kahit ako diko pa napupuntahan. sa mga travel books ko na nga lang nalalaman na may mga ganun palang lugar sa amin.
    enjoy your Ilocandia escapades..=)

  14. As an American planning to move to Ilocos Norte, Bangui / Pagudpud area in about 8 weeks, I’d really appreciate information on how to contact a “Mountain Resort” that I’ve found variously called the BANGUI, the Lanao/Bangui, the Ramiscal and combinations thereof. From the pictures and video It looks like the answer to my search for a cool (breeze-filled) place to stay. Any comments, questions, suggestions and recommendations will be very much appreciated. Thanks very much for your help. Mike dormouse3@gmail.com

  15. Hi Michael,
The Mountain Resort is located in Lanao, Bangui, Ilocos Norte. From Manila, you can take the plane going to Laoag which is about 45 minutes. You can hire a car going from Laoag airport to Lanao which is about an hour. Hiring a car from Laoag airport is not that easy though. You must have a contact so that you can hire a car. Otherwise you have to go with the public transportation which I am sure you prefer not to since public transport there does not have aircon unlike here in the US.
The Mountain Resort is on top of a hill at the foot of Sierra Madre or Cordillera Mountains. Nice place since from there, you can go to White beach or Blue Lagoon as well by car which is about 20 minutes away. Bangui windmills is just about 3.25 miles also. There are lots of places to go if you are a lover of nature.
    Good luck!!
    Blue Lagoon

  16. Hi! Here’s a tip for everyone who might be interested in going to Pagudpud. We just visited Pagudpud a few weeks back and what an awesome experience it was, we had such an amazing experience that I could not help myself but to share this. When we were planning to have our Pagudpud Trip we did not have any clue on where to go and what to do so I made a bit of research about the place and I stumbled into this site, explorenorth.multiply.com, it was like an answered prayer, we just contacted the site owner and all our concerns regarding our trip were addressed so much so that everything was taken cared of by the very friendly, courteous and professional Mr. Jem (our tour organizer and guide). Imagine for a very reasonable rate everything from transportation, accommodations, tour itinerary even suggestions on where or what to eat has been taken cared off. It truly is one hassle free Pagudpud experience, don’t believe me? Check out their site at http://www.explorenorth.multiply.com and experience for yourselves what I mean.

  24. Hello there!
Anybody who’ve been to Vigan and Pagudpod, we need advise, suggestions/recommendations in going to Ilocos. We plan to sidetrip to the North from Baguio before going back to Manila, this coming May 20-23, 2009. What is the best itinerary? We plan to go to Vigan but would also like to visit Pagudpod. What place is best to visit first before going back to Manila? We are a party of 8 people. Would appreciate very much advice re: accomodations. Thank you very much!
    Bernie

  25. You can go on overnight in either Vigan or Pagudpud. From Baguio, it is
another 6 hours. Stay in Kapuluan Vista resort or any of the Blue Lagoon
    resorts…
    Anton

  26. 1. Blue Lagoon, Maira-ira Beach
    2. Bangui Windmills
    3. Pagudpud
    4. Cape Bojeador Lighthouse
    5. Fort Ilocandia
    6. Sand Dunes of Ilocos
    7. Paoay Church
    8. Patapat Viaduct
Hi, Whats the right sequential order when I travel from Manila – Pagudpod on a road trip?

  27. the sequence would be
    Paoay Church
    Fort Ilocandia/ Sand Dunes
    Cape Bojeador lighthouse
    Bangui Windmills
    Pagudpud Saud Beach
    Blue Lagoon
    Patapat Viaduct.

  28. Visit http://www.Punta-Azul-Pagudpud.com.
Punta Azul Beach Resort is a home away from home. Originally built as a family retreat blending the natural beauty of this part of Pagudpud and Western lifestyle living, the owners decided to share it with visitors who yearn to escape the hectic and stressful life in the city.
The resort is nestled right at the Blue Lagoon in Baranggay Balaoi, Malingay, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The first time you see Blue Lagoon, you will be captivated by the stunning crystal blue water, pristine white sands at the foot of verdant mountains; just like a hidden treasure; a paradise at the northern tip of the Philippines!

  29. Hi! Thanks for this site, I learn a lot on the way going to pagudpud…My wife and my kid(3 year old boy) are planning to be there this coming holy week (April 8-12) and we are coming from baguio…We will be using our car so it is going to be tough for me coz im the driver…
    Just a few quetions:
    1. How is the road condition from san fernando la union to pagudpud?
    2. Can you speed up on the hi-way more than 100 kms/hr?
    3. Are the road signs clear enough going to pagudpud?
    4. Are there any traffics?
    5. Is there any alternative roads?
    TIA!

  30. 1. How is the road condition from san fernando la union to pagudpud?Wonderful.
    All paved roads.
    2. Can you speed up on the hi-way more than 100 kms/hr?
No. There are speed cameras in the NLEX.
    3. Are the road signs clear enough going to pagudpud?
Yes, in fact you just need to follow directions and you’ll reach pagudpud.
It would help if you have an atlas.
    4. Are there any traffics?
No traffic except probably in Tarlac.
    5. Is there any alternative roads?
You can go the other way around via Nueva Vizcaya and Tuguegarao

  31. hyi! saud white beach is still the best and most strategic place to settle when in pagudpud. From there you can go and explore scenic places in pagudpud and nearby locality, like the blue lagoon, patapat viaduct, kabigan falls, bangui windmills (town of bangui), cape bojeador lighthouse (town of burgos), etc. The sea in saud is more protected and sheltered than the open waters of blue lagoon and pancian that is exposed to the waters and current of the pacific ocean(go check it out at google earth for what i mean)! a day tour in the eastern pagudpud area is a must when in pagudpud but make sure you stay at hotel and resorts around the saud area.

  32. Hi Anton!
We’re planning to go to Ilocos Norte on the last week of May via plane. I just hope that is not yet rainy season by then.
Im travelling with my family. We want to see the best spots there. What will you recommend? Where can we stay?
    thanks and regards,
    floence

  33. Hello po!
I’m creating this itinerary for me and my friends 3 days, 2 nights Ilocos getaway in September.
Would just like to ask if what would be better: stay in a Pagudpud resort for the 3 nights then just have day tours in Vigan and Laoag, or just stay in a Pagudpud resort for 1 night then stay in either Vigan or Laoag for those other 2 nights?
Our budget ranges from 5,000 to 7,000 each. Medyo flexible pa ang option for transpo (either plane or bus), depends on our accomodations’ rates.
    Thanks po (in advance)!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  38. Hey, we’ve been to Pagudpud and I can say that the place is really lovely. From their mountain to ocean views, it was really a great experience. We stayed at Terra Rika resorts at the south end of the famous Saud White Beach. The place was simple but NICE. I love their place and I think if I’ll go back to Pagudpud, I’ll stay with Terra Rika. And for the tour, if you don’t have a car with you, tricycles are available for hire. 1,200 pesos will do for pagudpud tour for a day. Good for 2-3 persons. I have a contact there and if you want, you can also contact him. He is Kuya Benjie and here’s his contact number: 09129623008.
Thanks and I really love Ilocos Norte ^_^

  39. How much will it cost? is it near the beach?Where planning to go in Pagudpod but in a tigh budget, we need a place to stay that’s not expensive.

  40. Hi, we are planning to visit Pagudpud on April 15 2010 , We are 25 person & looking cheaper place we stay.. any reccomend are really appreciate….

  41. im planning an Ilocos Road trip for my family before the end of march… any suggestions on the best routes to take to maximize our visiting most of the beautiful spots..? also some good places to stay – im travelling with 3 young kids! ๐Ÿ˜€ thanks in advance!

  42. My family went on a joy ride to the Ilocos region this Holy Week. The long drive is all worth it! We were lucky to get the last avail room at Agua Seda BEach House. So affordable! They also prepare affordable meals. You can contact the owner Mrs. Leticia Garvida at 0920-2431832. You dont need city amenities like pool, Wifi, Tv..just the basic bed and own CR because you have the clear blue waters right in front of you…We checked the resorts and beaches in Currimao..not good at all. Sometimes web sites are deceiving. It’s good to see the resort first before you make any booking. But bring your tent in case you cant find a room..You can always spend the night on the wide shore on this side of the ocean =)

  43. I love Pagudpud and been there a lot. But in summer 2009, Florida Bus gave me the worst headache I’ve ever had in my visit to Ilocos.
I was with four girl friends when we visited Laoag. That day, we planned on going to Burgos for the Cape Bojeador, the windmills of Bangui, and of course the beaches of Pagudpud using local transport available. We were so exhausted when we reached Pagudpud. But before enjoying the beach we checked out Florida bus for its schedule. All we wanted was a comfortable trip back to Laoag. We hope to get a seat but they are not accepting reservation. the dispatcher said we have to be there early to get a sure seat.
The bus’ last trip was at 6pm bound for Manila. By 5pm we were already at the Pagudpud town plaza in the so-called Florida bus “terminal”. We then approached the dispatcher that we will buy tickets for Laoag. To our dismay he said the bus is full and that we will have to stand. But we don’t see that much people lining up to buy tickets. We said we don’t mind standing if it is really full, besides there’s no other buses, even non-aircon, available during that time.
The time has come for the bus to depart and we were thankful there were still a few vacant seats. We were chance passengers so we were the last to enter the bus. What we thought to be a comfortable ride became my nightmare as when a passenger bound for San Fernando, La Union was picked up along the highway. The bus conductor approached me and ordered me (he never asked) to stand up and give way to the new passenger.
What the f*@k was he saying???!!! I paid for this seat anyway!
He explained that it’s their policy to provide seats for passengers with farther destinations. Passengers to Laoag only are not the bus’ priority.
    What???!!!
Until another passenger was picked up, then another – until the five of us were all standing.
Though we were furious of what they have done to us, we managed to stay on the bus because there was no other way. The driver nor the conductor were mindlessly ignoring our grambling. That two and a half bus ride was a nightmare. Should we have known that ridiculous policy exists, we could have taken other alternative.
I don’t know if they were still doing the same stupid thing. But consider this as a warning.

Can we expect the places to be still pristine, beautiful, as most of you have mentioned, worthy of throwing away our hard-earned money here? hehehe thanks for any information….

  62. Ang ganda sa lugar na ito. napakalinis! pero ang mahal ng mga pagkain kahit magpaluto ka mahal pa din. i-suggest sa laoag kayo mg-stay kung gusto nyong makatipid sa food expenses at lodging. Dami din staple fastfoods and grocery sa laoag like jollibee, mcdo, chowking, puregold at sm supermarkets.
    God bless!
