3 Tips on How To Have An Awesome Lunch @ Seryna

Seryna continues to be the favorite Japanese Restaurant among both Japanese and Filipinos. I wrote about Seryna almost two years ago in this post: Japanese Delights @ Seryna, Little Tokyo. The best time to go is during lunch time when most of the Japanese restos would have an affordable set lunch menu. Here are three (3) tips on how to have an Awesome Lunch at Seryna.

1. RESERVE.

Seryna is quite small and has limited rooms. Call Seryna @ +632 8943855 to reserve preferably one week in advance.

2. KNOW WHAT TO ORDER.

  • The lunch set menu is fixed at P320 all-in (I love it when restaurants put an all-in price in the menu).
  • If you look at my previous post, the Kaisen Gozen is priced originally at P250 🙂
  • Seryna is famous for their Kaisen Gozen and the orange label on the menu says that there are only 30 sets available
  • Gozen is like a set lunch meal where the items are put in different dishes. In a bento, it is put in a box type container.
  • Yakizakana is grilled fish.
  • Higawari gozen is like Gozen for the day and it changes daily.
  • Makunouchi is a popular type of Japanese bento which consists of fish, meat, pickles, eggs and vegetables along with rice and an umeboshi. (source: Wikipedia)

3. ENJOY!

I would order the Kaisen Gozen which is a serving of fresh sashimi on a bed of radish with Japanese rice. The set comes with soup, salad, appetizers and dessert. At P320, it is still a very good deal. I don’t think there is really a particular order on how you should eat it. Just Enjoy your lunch!

You can park in front of Seryna if you are early (around 11.30am). Otherwise, I recommend that you park in Makati Cinema Square basement parking.

  1. Kaisen Gozen @ Seryna is the best bang for buck Japanese meal I’ve ever had – A little bit of everything. Seryna is near our office and is the lunch place of choice when the budget allows 🙂 Glad to see Seryna is here on OAP!

  2. I have eaten here once with friends and I must say their lunch sets are great value for money and as authentic as Japanese food could probably get. I heard that you have to be careful when ordering ala carte though, since some items are quite pricey. My sister’s instructor in culinary school once ate there with friends and they spent P8000 per head! I was like, “what the hell did they order?!” Hehe.

  3. Hi Anton!
WOW, I love Seryna! My Japanese wife also recommends Tanabe restaurant at SM MOA (it’s facing the bay). They also have a very “filling” lunch set priced around P250-P300. Go for the Yakiniku set! If you’re feeling “healthy”, the soba set is also very good. I already brought the entire CS folks there and they loved it! According to her it’s as authentic as it can get. 😀
