Like most of Filipino families, we would spend Christmas alternating between the mother-side of the family and the father-side. This Christmas, both of our parents are in the US for the first time so we celebrated Christmas with our siblings and cousins.
The night before Christmas. Aidan kept on asking me if it is Christmas already and we did a Christmas Day countdown.
Our Christmas Eve dinner with Rache siblings turned into a Thanksgiving dinner with a huge Turkey as the centerpiece.
Every Christmas, taking a family portrait picture is already part of the Christmas tradition.

Over to our family side, we had a family reunion with my mother-side cousins from Laguna.
Aidan was playing until 2am in the morning on Christmas Eve…
Christmas for Aidan meant opening gifts, play time all day with his cousins, and NO computer time 🙂

Looks like you had so much fun! I always celebrate Christmas on our side of the family because husband’s side is in the mountains. Speaking of turkey, I decided to roast one too because I think turkey meat is leaner/healthier/cheaper than lechon.
I love those wooden toys, btw. The kids must be ecstatic over their new toys.

My family would often celebrate Christmas with my dad’s family, then New Year with my mom’s, as it’s also her sister’s birthday. Sometimes we’d alternate. It’s still a lot of fun. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Christmas is a celebration and thanksgiving for the goodness and blessings for having loved ones. We live in New Jersey and my parents and my siblings are apart from us. My husband and children celebrated the Eve by attending church service and dinner with my stuffed manicotti, ham, caesar’s salad, fruit salad and brownies. The children opened their presents. Celebrated Christmas Day in Long Island for my in-laws’ party. It was a nice evening. I am still thankful that the Lord has blessed us with good health, shelter and food.
are those wooden looking toys actually foamies? i just saw them at the Royal Ontario Museum, and they’re quite big here.
