Angel’s Kitchen is famous for two things: (1) its homey ambiance and service (it’s just as if you’re going to a friend’s house in Greenhills), and (2) its signature, most-raved about dish: Pinakbet Rice and Lechon Kawali with Chocolate Bagoong. It’s a shame that we just ate here last December for the first time.
It is in the same league as Conti’s in Las Piñas (now with branches around Manila) and Cookbook Kitchen in Mandaluyong. The restaurant’s success can be traced to the wonderful mix of its comfort food using homemade recipes, cozy atmosphere, cheerful service and offerings of a sweet finish with a slice of cake.
Most people would go for the Rice Duo meals, which have a unique twist and combination at an affordable price. I appreciate the fact that the serving size is good for two. Aside from the Pinakbet rice, the Homey, Tinapa Rice with Tocino Barbeque or the Sweet and Hot, Honey Garlic Spareribs with XO Fried Rice sounds interestingly yummy that you would vow to go back to try it.
Melba Chips and Chicken pate with Pistachios
The meal starts with a serving of soft, fresh bread with chicken pate. No matter how many times we asked for a refill, the servers were happy to fulfill our request.
Soft-shell Crab with Mango Poppy Seed Dressing (P278)
The soft-shell crabs were soft enough for Aidan to eat them. (I stay away from them because I cannot imagine eating the whole crab, including its shell.) The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, with the salad dressing yummy enough for us to finish the entire dish.
Angel’s Kitchen Menu : Simple Courtesies
Pandenini | Appetizers | Salad | Soup | Pasta | Main Course: Meats | Poultry and Seafoods | Prawns, Laksa, Dory | Rice Duo | Beverages | Beer & Herbal Teas
The kids love bread, and this usually calms them down when they become restless in their seats.
Lamb Curry with Apple Raisin Chutney (P458) A Signature Dish.
We ordered the best-sellers, and the servings are indeed good for two. The curry sauce was not too strong; it had a subdued taste even with a mix of herbs, spices and coconut milk. You need the apple raisin chutney to spice up this meal — a perfect combination. Without it, the lamb curry would taste ordinary.
Original Pinakbet Rice with Lechon Kawali and Chocolate Bagoong. (P388) A Signature Dish.
This famous dish definitely met our expectations. Although the combination’s not unique (except for the chocolate on top of the bagoong), the magnified and well-designed presentation was enough to whet our appetite. The chocolate was overpowered by the saltiness of the bagoong and appeared to be just a design. This dish brought back memories of our Ilocos Norte escapade, where we feasted on bagnet and pinakbet comfort food.

P.S. Here is a behind-the-scenes look on how I created this blog post.
Try the fish, it’s covered in green onions, sesame seeds, it’s a good dish for those who need to eat a bit healthier. And they have good ribs, but haven’t had it over a year.
Among the desserts, I like the apple pie, and always buy a bottle of their atomic sardines – it’s good and spicy.
Thanks for the new find, Anton! My list of “places I have to try” is getting longer and longer.
i am addicted to their honey garlic spareribs with XO fried rice. this is what i ordered in my past 4-5 visits in angel’s kitchen 🙂
Hi po.. i’ve been visiting this site for years already and i would like to share 1 thing i love about this blog… it’s the way the owner gives other people their due credit. like if he learns something new, he gives credit to the website who posted it first and does not give undue credit to himself. wala lang, i just think that’s nice.. =) More power..
sounds super sarap! can’t wait to try it!
ohh i love angel’s kitchen! i love the lamb curry, baked parmesan fish fillet, potato crusted fish fillet, soft shelled crabs, the list goes on and on!

Hmm… surprising that it was only your first time to visit this restaurant. I usually hear the firsts from you.
We also love Angel’s Kitchen and I’m so glad that it’s only a stone throw away from my place. We have a long list of favorites but it’s Lamb Curry, Soft Shell Crab Salad, Pinakbet Rice to name a few.

i can’t believe it took you this long to make it to AK. am sure i read about mentions of the resto in your comments before. was in manila for a month in december and my favorite eating spots were AK, milky way, pho hoa, choi’s in greenhills and lvn(?)in silang, cavite with THE best bangus paired with bulalo.
i can’t think of anything i din’t like at AK. yes the softshell crab salad with mango/poppyseed dressing, lechon/pakbet rice, calamari, crusted dory, lamb and on and on and on..and the best banana cream pie!!
WHITE TIRAMISU
I usually have the Caesar’s Salad and the Salmon au Gratin 🙂 Plus the Lamb for sharing!
Their Waldorf Salad with calamansi dressing is one of their best! It’s great how calamansi flavor just penetrates through and highlights the salad perfectly!
I ordered the lemony shrimps (Php 388) pasta recommended by the waitress…didn’t like it, it was actually spaghettini with 5 small shrimps, the taste wasn’t lemony at all, tasted more like calamansi, and I felt like eating an overpriced palabok squeezed with a lot of calamansi with 5 small shrimps minus the other ingredients…
love the spare ribs. even the kamias juice is also great!
i love their mushroom capuccino soup!
Angel’s Kitchen 2 opening in Rockwell Aug 2011!

01/21/12
Homey restaurant with wooden floor boards and chairs. Ample parking space even at night because their neighbors are not well patronized. Food is home-style cooking. Ordered their “award winning” pinakbet rice topped with bagnet” which is basically salty local stewed veggies (pinakbet) mixed into a bowl of rice, topped with 3 pieces of deep fried pork (bagnet). On the side is a small serving of fermented shrimp paste (bagoong) topped with a squirt of chocolate. So that’s it. Taste, well, nothing fancy. I would say portion size is small for 400 pesos, not enough for sharing. Also ordered the “signature” dory fish topped with Parmesan cheese and some bacon slices. Tasted good at the start because of the toppings but then it tasted as if it has bread powder on it. This is half of the fish, laid out on an oblong dish, serving size is small again for almost 400 pesos. Ordered the “signature” lamb dish with apple chutney. 3 pieces of lamb, nice and tender, the only one I would say is worth the 450+ pesos we paid for it. Now for the dessert. We tried the sans rival made with lady fingers (I think they called it the maldorf or something). Not too sweet, not too creamy. I like my dessert to be indulgent so I’m Not happy with it. Serving size is again pretty small for almost 200 pesos a slice. What a let down! Service is quick and good though.
