Cibo Bimbi, Rockwell

By

We’ve loved Cibo ever since it opened in Glorietta. It was a favorite hangout of P&G folks during lunchtime. If we wanted to feel good, we would eat at Cibo. After how many years, I’m glad that they’ve opened a Cibo for Kids version on the 3rd floor of the Power Plant Mall in Rockwell. Now, we can enjoy Cibo with Aidan and Joshua. 🙂 Let me share with you our favorites in Cibo…

Melanzane alla griglia . (P180 +SC). Focaccia. Grilled eggplant. Mozzarella. Sun-dried tomato. Black olives.

This ranks high on the list of my all-time favorite Cibo comfort food. We would often start by savoring the small pieces of chips on the side and dip them in mayonnaise. Then, we’d move on to the panini. The sweet grilled eggplant really goes well with the melted mozzarella.

I had a vegetarian phase after our San Benito Farm 5-day Cleansing Retreat. This is one of the sandwiches I truly enjoyed during that phase. I do hope to go back to that kind of vegetarian lifestyle one of these days…

Nero Di Seppie. Menta. (P225 +SC). Squid Ink Sauce. Mint.

There was also a time when squid ink pasta was a hit in Manila. Rache loves it ’til now.  We would often have a smile on our faces (and smudges of squid ink on our teeth) after eating this.

I’m still amazed at the quality of Cibo pasta — still al dente after all these years. The squid ink is not malansa. Even if they open more restaurants, the quality is consistent.

Cinque Formaggi. (P353 +SC). Mozzarella. Gorgonzola. Parmesan. Gruyere. Bel Paese.

As for the pizza, you have to eat it while it is hot. The crust is crunchy yet chewy, but it becomes harder when cold.

While you are waiting for your food, your kids can visit Build City to build their own Lego creation or go to Kidz Station to play with different kinds of toys.

On Sundays, this place gets full during lunchtime, particularly after the Sunday Mass in Rockwell. It’s best to reserve your table ahead of time.

  1. CIBO definitely tops my list! Until now I still haven’t gotten over how great their Penne Al Telefono is! However, their serving size became smaller 🙁

  2. this is random, but i just had what i think is the best shawarma in manila. the place is called abra kebab and it’s at the makati palace hotel along p burgos in makati. figured you’d want to try it too.

  3. when i went home for xmas, cibo was on top of my list to eat at. I was hugely disappointed. their food has degraded immensely in terms of taste & portion size. super bland. 🙁

  4. How is Cibo Bimbi different from regular Cibo? Since there’s already a Cibo in Power Plant, how what sets this one apart?

  5. this one’s right next to the children’s stores. plus, they have plastic chairs (as opposed to the steel ones cibo normally uses) and a complete set of colored pencils and crayons your tot can use while waiting or eating 🙂
