Tips on How to Make Your Own Havaianas…

The most awaited event in Havaianas promotions is the annual Make Your Own Havaianas. This year, it will be held for 5 days from May 28 to June 1 in Rockwell Tent from 10am to 10pm (Power Plant Mall hours).

What is different this time around?
1. The culture pins are the highlight of this year’s Make Your Own Havaianas.
2. The letters are now gone because they can be easily removed.
3. The basic slippers cost P795 and it’s P50 for every pin you use.

There will be a lot of people in this event, so it is better to plan how you will design your own Havaianas before you go. We attended the media night of Make Your Own Havaianas and we got complimentary flip flops. I wanted to share with you some tips on how you can create your own.

You’ll be given a checklist on how you want your Havaianas to be customized…

It is better if you already know your size beforehand. If not, get some sample slipper sizes and try them on.

Next, decide on the colors of the slipper base and the straps. There is an interactive Havaianas color wheel where you can rotate the various strap colors and match them with the color of the base.

Select from the Pinoy pins, lifestyle pins and swarovskis (P50/piece). There is no Philippine flag but there is a Brazilian flag. (Bakit naman ganon?)

Submit your checklist to the Havaianas staff for assembly.

Once the basic slipper is assembled, you can ask for the pins and try to mix and match them with your preference.

Don’t forget to get the LIMITED EDITION pin, which is not included in the checklist.

The swarovskis are located on one side near the Rockwell entrance. This has the longest line, so if you are getting the swarovski pins, better prioritize this.

After all the pins are punched into the straps, you’ll get to inspect the flip flops before accepting your customized pair.

I decided to get the Lomo Camera Lifestyle pin and Philippine Map Culture Pin on the right slipper; and the Noypi Culture Pin and Beach Lifestyle Pin on the left. Of course, I didn’t forget to put the limited edition pin on the Havaianas side of the strap. To complete the design, I went with 3 jeepney pins on the other side of the strap.

Mrs. OAP Havaianas (P2,095)

Rache and I decided to have the same Philippine Map and Noypi Culture Pins. She chose to add the Yoga Lifestyle Pin to her design. The Limited Edition Pin is located right after it. On one side of the strap, she put 10 White Swarovski pins. (Sadly, after one day, 3 pins disappeared already…)

  1. you can still have those crystals replaced, i was told, and you don’t have to queue anymore. you just have to inform the guard and they will direct you to their help desk. but you can only do this while the promo is ongoing… paano kung nawala after a week? sorry na lang? 🙁 that’s why i chose the pins instead of the crystals, better safe than sorry! 🙂
