Alan’s Grill

Cubao eXpo: The Next Evolution Series

Alan’s Grill is known for its Kare Kareng Bulalo and Crispy Pata. From Bakahan and Manukan in Megamall, Alan transfered his restaurant to Cubao eXpo and became the place to be for Filipino food in the area. People hang out in Alan’s Grill for “Barrio Fiesta” kind of food, or to enjoy a band’s performance in Genre on the second floor. The food is fine if you are already in Cubao eXpo, but I don’t think it will become a foodie destination like Bellini’s.

There are three options on where to eat — the first floor aircon area, the al-fresco area outside or in Genre (second floor). The ground floor gives one an impression of being in an art gallery.

Appetizers, Bulalo, Soup, Vegetables, Binalot sa Dahon, Toppings, Seafoods, Sari Saring Inihaw
Specialties, Rice, Pancit, Sandwiches, Merienda, Drinks, Juices/Shakes, Desserts

The main dishes range from P200-P300 while the merienda menu is less than P100. Name a popular Filipino dish and they would most probably have it in their menu. Just lower your expectations, and you’ll be fine.

Halaan Soup (P173).  A bit oily and lacks the pait taste I was looking for.

Kare Kareng Bulalo (P233). The taste was a bit diluted and the bagoong was too salty. There were a lot of litid instead of meat in the Bulalo. I imagine this would be perfect with beer.

You are welcome to go up to Genre, where there is a small stage with a band. It is more of a bar, but you can still order from Alan’s Grill while there.

You can reserve this small area overlooking Cubao eXpo if you plan to have an inuman or just hang out with friends.
