Grand Thrift House

Cubao eXpo: The Next Evolution Series

The Grand Thrift House is the home of vintage items, nostalgia and kitsch in Manila. They have several old copies of Wakasan (the dramatic comic magazine made by Carlo J. Caparas) and other discontinued Filipino comic magazines. It is a very interesting shop — you need to have an eye for what is valuable to cut through the clutter.

Old school toys are available…

Discover artista photos from the Eddie Gutierrez Era…

After buying the USB Turntables from Heima, make sure to look through the LP records in Grand Thrift House…

The place also looks like a historical gadget museum. It would be very educational to show this to Aidan and Joshua when they grow up…

Nostalgic Magnolia bottles… (I’m part of the generation that was drinking chocolate milk from those bottles.)

An original Yamaha organ with the complete album collection of Mariah Carey…

Michi was able to spot this vintage bag and bought it for P500 I believe…

Randy, looking through the vintage cameras (perhaps to sell in Ebay)…

Didi, showing off the Romnick Sarmenta memorabilia…

A photo frame of Miss Universe Gloria Diaz and Miss International semi-finalist Binky Montinola in 1969…

Check out the old coffee table books…
