Dingdong Dantes on Food, Travel and Book Run

Recently, my wife and I had the chance to meet one of the most popular personalities in the local entertainment industry — Dingdong Dantes. After the interview, we concluded that although he’s a big celebrity, he’s still simple and down-to-earth. We had fun chatting with him about his favorite Japanese, Filipino and Mediterranean restaurants. He even shared with us his favorite comfort food and the secret behind the new Steakhouse restaurant in Makati. I invite you to eavesdrop on our conversation.

In Part 2 of the video, Dingdong talks about his favorite travel destinations in the Philippines. 🙂

Also, he answers questions on what to expect at the Book Run on January 31 (for the benefit of the Yes Pinoy Foundation). In the video, he explains that the foundation supports kids of fallen Philippine Marines, a cause he endorses because he is a part of the Marine Reserves himself.

He invites all Our Awesome Planet readers to join him and participate in the Book Run. (He’ll be running 3k at the moment and hindi raw sure if Marian will run…)

  1. Have you tried San Marino spicy tuna where Ding Dong Dantes and Marian Rivera is endorsing?
It’s pretty good, better than other brands.
In fact I used it whenever I make sandwhiches after our basketball game.

  2. Hi Anton =)
It’s been a while. I still get some queries from people who read your blog about The Artist Chef. That was 3 years ago. A lot of things have changed and maybe you can direct them to my blog for a more updated info. Thank you so much for being one of the pillars who helped me to become where I am now. I am also glad to have heard a lot of your success.
My kind regards to Rachel & your kids =)

  3. Let’s not put down to earth and low-class in the same context, which he is.
You know what they say, you can take a man out of the jungle but you can’t take the jungle out of the man.

  4. hahaha, I agree with Xisthos…he looks sosyal but is not, now I understand his leaving K for M…the way he talks reminds me so much of Richard Gomez (unless it’s coz M’s ways are rubbing off on him ewwww!)…

  5. Thanks for the article! I am running 10K to support the Book Run this weekend and quite disappointed that for such a fit person (plus a superbod), Dingdong would only be running 3K. :'( Already gave him two thumbs up for charity though! Wish he could’ve been more competitive in running (especially since this is his event) like Piolo Pascual, Rovilson Fernandez, Drew Arellano, etc. We know he’s got what it takes! Nevertheless, I’ve always been a fan. 🙂
