Peanut Butter Love

I’ve been hearing raves about Peanut Butter Company (PB Co.) ever since it opened, but it is quite far from where we live. It took me some time to gain enough patience to brave the traffic going to SM North Edsa.

It was our parents’ wedding anniversary and syoti Raphael’s first month, so we decided to celebrate in Peanut Butter Company. PB Co. specializes in take-out pasta and sandwiches that use their gourmet peanut butter. I was a bit surprised that the place discourages dine-in guests because of the few dine-in tables available and the way the sandwiches/pasta are served (in take-out wrappers and containers).

It is a cross between Oliver’s Sandwiches, a coffee shop and an Iron Chef episode with Peanut Butter as the main ingredient. We had fun because the food is quite unique and yummy. We have our own preferences but we all agree that the Sesame Peanut Butter was the best. 🙂

Peanut Butter Company Menu | Peanut Butter Company Bottle Prices

Prices are quite expensive at P180 average pricing for take-out sandwich and pasta. I notice they don’t have much foot traffic inside the store. I guess they were hoping to attract the IMAX crowd.

This would be an instant hit in Boni High Street or Serendra. 🙂 Can someone please encourage the owners to put up one in the Bonifacio Global City area?

Fish Diablo Pasta (P185) – Chili Peanut Butter, Spicy Tomato Sauce.

I enjoy super hot pasta, and this one did not disappoint. The spiciness could burn your tongue and the peanut butter is quite rich but yummy.

Classic Spaghetti (P135) – Sun-dried Tomato Peanut Butter, Meat Sauce.

I love this even better than the Fish Diablo Pasta. It is simple and the taste of the tomato surprisingly matches the peanut butter. If you think about it, you can just buy a bottle of Sun-dried Tomato Peanut Butter for P210, add a bit of meat sauce and then mix it with your own pasta. 🙂

PB Burger Sandwich (P185) – Sesame Peanut Butter, Lettuce, Tomato, Peanut Cucumber Mayo.

My personal favorite! This is one of the best burgers I’ve tasted in Manila. The meat was really juicy, the price is good enough for its size and it has our favorite sesame peanut butter. The buns are better versus the bread for their flat sandwiches. It is good value for your money — I recommend this anytime! 🙂

Thanks to my brother for driving us all the way to SM North Edsa! 🙂

Chili Fried Chicken Sandwich (P185) – Chili Peanut Butter, Fried Chicken Fillet, Creamed Corn.

This was the most ho-hum sandwich that we tried. The chicken is bland and I don’t get the corn + peanut butter + chili combination…

Roast Beef Sandwich (P185) – Cardamom Peanut Butter, Roast Beef, Gravy.

This was highly recommended, but I’m not sure if I will order this again. The quality of beef is a bit poor, the bread itself is quite thin, and I hardly tasted the cardamom.

This would have been better if they used the hoagie buns similar to Charlie’s / Elbert’s for their Philly Cheese Steaks.

Crunchy Sardine Jelly Sandwich (P155) – Crunchy Peanut Butter, Sardines and Grape Jelly.

My mom loved this — just imagine Peanut Butter and Jelly with Sardines! Surprisingly good without the lansa taste of sardines.

I like the sweet peanut butter sandwiches for kids and kids-at-heart.

Black Forest Sandwich (P135) – Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cherries, Vanilla Cream Cheese.

This sandwich is oozing with calories — imagine Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Cream Cheese together — SARAP!

They could actually be playful with the kind of bread that they use. For this, maybe a soft bagel shaped like a Black Forest Cake would work…

Aidan loved the “dessert” sandwiches, like the Marshmallow Peanut Butter Sandwich.

Marshmallow Peanut Butter Sandwich (P135) – Creamy Peanut Butter, Marshmallow Cream.

This was quite simple. It would have been nice if they put put bits and pieces of marshmallow inside the sandwich.

Maybe they should have a create-your-own-peanut-butter-sandwich option in the future. 🙂

Dear Raphael,

This is your first foodie adventure with the entire family. We celebrated your first month “birthday” with a Fantasia Cake* from Miss Desserts. You’re growing up so fast. We can’t wait for you to have fun eating with the family! 🙂

Poppa and Momma

*(The cake is P146, in case you wanted to know.)

I was wondering if PB Co. is an international chain or a local creation? Let me know the story of Peanut Butter Company if you know. Below is the entire line of Gourmet Peanut Butter:

Most of the peanut butter variants cost P210 except for the basic ones — Creamy, Crunchy and Butter at P180.

We love Sesame Peanut Butter! What’s your favorite?

The entire family celebrating my parents’ 39th wedding anniversary. 🙂 Congrats, Momsy and Popsy!

  1. I’ve been wanting to try this place kaso lang like you i find the location a bit far 😀 haha! Hopefully, we can try it out soon! The pasta looks really good.
Btw, baby Raphael is super cute 🙂 his kuyas are growing up fast.

  2. Love love love this. Thanks to Spanx and Jane!! 🙂
Would love love to go back.
Good thing, its super near me!! 🙂
Regards to Rache, Aidan, Shoty and Raphael!

  3. Hi Sir Anton! Haven’t tried PB Co. though but i’m really intrigued as to how can peanut butter blends well to pasta/s and to hot & “salty” sandwiches so i definitely must try this peanut-butter-y PB Co. thingy!..maybe later! hahahaha! As what i read from a food info site, PB Co. is a local brand, manufactured here in the Philippines..if this is true, buying their peanut butter supports our quality Filipino products! maybe that’s the reason why their peanut butter is pricey..but if their product is THAT GOOD, your 210pesos will not go to waste.. 🙂
Regards to your 3 kids!cute cute cute! 🙂

  4. My favourite: Black Forest Sandwich (Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter, Vanila Cream Cheese, and Cherries). I love the dark chocolate peanut butter!!!
    CALORIES!!!!!
BTW, there’s a waffle stall in SM NORTH EDSA that sells the same waffle as starbucks (same company that supplies to starbucks). I forgot the name but I’ll let you know once I find it. You might want to check it out if you’re in the area. =)

  5. I wish they’d add milkshakes to their menu (chocolate + pb + vanilla ice cream = one good milkshake). I’ll visit next weekend to try the pasta and sandwiches.
Btw, when will you be posting your review on Minot’s Ledge, Anton?

  6. Hi Anton, I believe SM provides their not-so-prime spaces to ‘start-ups” to see if they can grow their brands. That’s the case for Gotti’s which started in SM Bicutan. They had to build a name before they were provided with good space in Mega. Also, North Edsa is a prime spot at may foodies din naman dun.Hindi lang siya sa South 🙂

  7. Wow! Thanks for this awesome discovery! my girlfriend and i frequent Trinoma and this new foodie discovery’s a great addition to our must try list! we love the peanut-ty Charlie Chan pasta of Yellow Cab so we’re targeting the PB Co’s line up of pasta!

  8. And I always thought peanut butter was for bread alone. The owners must really like peanut butter. 🙂 What an interesting find Anton! Kaya lang parang ang daming peanut butter naman yan in one sitting. Hindi ba “nakakaumay” especially the pastas?

  9. Gotta try this one…you are right anton, this kind of restos should be at the Bonifacio or MOA area/settings… anyway in April I will try it with my family..Thanks

  10. Love PB Co. too. my personal favorite is the Green Tea and Sesame PB! YUM! We only tried it once though, it’s too far from our place.. Plus the traffic!! argh.
BTW, PB Co. has its own facebook account, maybe you’ll learn more about PB Co. from there :).

  11. Awesome post Anton, this got me curious. Will try this place next month! Very interesting PB dishes. Hopefully they bring it down south.:)

  12. PB CO’s food are to die for! always craving, craving, craving for the Chili Fried Chicken and Box of Chips! btw, i know that kid wearing yellow shirt, he was enrolled at Phil Opera last summer with my kid hehe..
try PBCo’s food.. di nakaka sawa!

  13. Anton, Its very near our place cause we live in Manila. I’m curious about the incorporation of peanut butter with pasta and savoury sandwiches. Anything this unique is worth the try! Thanks for blogging about PB Company. I would have never discovered it without your blog. Aidan looks so cute eating his marsmallow peanut butter sandwich!

  14. Tried PB Co. last friday after i wrote my comment here…went there with a friend that’s nuts about peanut butter so she gave it a go instantly when i asked her to join me on the foodtrip, even if she came from work at the fort and has to go home in cainta after..hahaha! we’ll it was like death-by-peanut-butter that night!we ordered 5 items from their menu considering there’s only 2 of us..there was chili fried chicken sandwich, sesame fish fry sandwich, marshmallow PB sw, classic spaghetti and a box of chips..the chili fried chicken was good but i was surprised that the PB will be that HOT, it can really burn your tongue (and esophagus..harhar!) if your not used to eating spicy food. The sesame fish fry for me was great! not too bland, the fish (for me) is cooked perfectly without the ‘malansa’ factor and it complements the sesame PB. Marshmallow PB sandwich…will make you feel like a kid again!ha! hope they’ll incorporate chocolate like the black forest, so it will be like s’mores PB sandwich..yum! 🙂 The spaghetti…who could imagine PB in a spaghetti?!?when i took a forkful of the pasta, i thought i was eating kare-kare spag..but oh my, it was gooooood…hindi siya nakakaumay talaga… and to neutralize to all PB we ordered, we decided to buy a box of chips with wasabi mayo dip..i think it’s a better version of the mojos at Shakey’s and the dip was yummy!you keep coming back for more wasabi! hahaha! The service was good and the girl at the cash registry was courteous enough to answer our queries.. We will definitely go back at PB CO. soon, after we ward off some of the PB dilemna we had (haha!), and try other items in their menu!yipee!:)
We also had StickHouse after the PB Co. experience…the gelato-on-a- stick was so diviiiinneee! The Giandiua (choco-hazelnut)was fantastic and it is to my liking and my friend ordered the pistachio (too pistachio-y for me though..).
    🙂

  15. Oh wow! We did a feasib study during college, proposing for a PB restaurant. Hope I’d get to visit this store soon. =)

  16. Thanks for sharing your experience 🙂 it is literally peanut butter heaven… We failed to try stick house thanks for sharing that!

  17. Gotti’s is great. The pasta is good and the prices are reasonable.
Thanks for this post by the way. I live near SM North so I just might check this place out. The pasta doesn’t look appetizing (parang natapunan ng sauce ng kare-kare hehe) but I’ll trust your word on the burger.

  18. my fiance and i tried PB Co at SM Pampanga. It’s our pick for merienda before we went to the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. we only had the sandwiches though. good to know about the other dishes. we will try it next time. thanks for the review.

  19. Try putting a tablespoon or so of peanut butter in your instant noodles (lucky me and the like). Throw in a piece of siling labuyo too. It’s my cheap thrill and comfort food.

  20. we ate there 2 weeks ago. i tried the burger with sesame peanut butter. it was a nice combination of burger & peanut butter. i liked it. the burger on its own, was not really that special. but with the peanut butter, it was something different to try. my parents tried the fish sandwiches (sesame fish fry sandwich, butter fish steak sandwich). “ok lang” was their comment. i tasted both sandwiches and the sesame fish fry was better than the butter fish steak. i think the wasabi mayo was overpowering the peanut butter in the butter fish steak. we also tried the box of chips. it was served hot. yummy! sayang, we weren’t able to taste the sweet sandwiches coz we were full na. next time i’ll try the elvis, marshmallow pb sandwich & classic spaghetti. can’t wait!

  21. I’ve tried the cinnamon peanut butter. Yummmmmm! But nakakaumay din if you eat it all the time. 😀 A bit expensive. Although big plastic container naman so if you really like Peanut Butter then i think it’s worth it. 😀

  22. I can’t help but think that if this place was located at some other malls like Rockwell powerplant, sure hit ito. Problem is konti lang kakain ng 185pesos pasta sa sm north, place is just crawling with c class pang masa people.

  23. Hi Anton, Peanut Butter and Co. is a local chain of restaurant.. The owners are good friend of mine.. rest assure i will relay to them your message and your blog , i’m sure it”l be music to their ears.. and this will send encouragement to open more chains for others to try their specialty …

  24. My dad really likes peanut butter, personally I can live without it. But only sometiems I have a craving for a delicious peanut butter, the one from iligan city peanut butter is I think the best so far among the peanut butter I ahve ried. Although I have never been to that Peanut Butter Co., will try it someday though when I can remember it or I have a deep craving for PB.

  25. hi sir anton..PB Co. is also available in SM Mall of Asia near mcdonalds and just before the hypermarket. im not really a fan of peanut butter but after i have tasted it.. i went back for more.. classic spaghetti is really good. cant believe that peanut butter and tomato sauce mix well..
    more power to you..

  26. Hi,for anyone who wants to know, there’s a branch of this in Katipunan, right in front of Ateneo near Bon Chon. It’s great!
