My Days with the Lord…

Admittedly, I entertained the thought of backing out the last minute last Friday to watch the opening night of The Wedding Singer instead of attending Yuppie Days with the Lord. I thought it would be a corny retreat designed for High School students and it would be “an Atenean thing”.

Good thing, He prevailed 🙂

I was excited and scared when I arrived at Xavier School. I can still remember my Days with the Lord sponsor, Francis, who said, “Eat a lot before going to the event because it would be your last meal.” He further added, “Come with an Open Mind and an Open Heart.

Until the last activity in the Yuppie Days with the Lord weekend, I was excited and scared.

I was planning to do a blog post on “Days with the Lord Expose” but the entire weekend was too perfect that words are not enough to describe the experiences I had and an expose would ruin everything for the next person/ batch who would experience it.

My heart is bursting with raves and gratitude for the Days staffers who served us to make it perfect. Thank yous are not enough to repay the humility and kindness of those who made it happen.

The “4th day” was indeed very tough. Temptations are all around. It challenges our commitment to live a life with Him in every opportunity. We can only conquer it with His loving grace.

Please allow me to end this blog post with a bloggers prayer,

Dear Lord,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to blog once again.
Please continue to inspire me with the right words when I blog.
Please give me the wisdom to know when to blog and when NOT to blog.
Please bless all my readers so that they would be touched and
be inspired by Your love in each blog post.

Please use me for Your greater glory until my last blog post.  Amen.

Basta Ikaw Lord!

Disclosure: I’m a proud Yuppie Dazers batch 39!

P.S. The next Yuppie Days with the Lord batch 40 will be on March 18-20, 2011.

P.P.S. I leave you with this inspirational story of St. André of Montreal who was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on Sunday October 17, 2010 at the Vatican. If a porter can be a saint, YES we can be a saint too!

  6. dwtl was probably one of the most profound moments of my life, and my only regret is that i experienced it earlier, rather than later in life like you did. i probably would have gotten way more out of it than i did in high school.
