Ever since my first Pinkberry encounter in LA last Feb 2008, I was dreaming of Pinkberry coming to our shores.
I started a Frozen Yogurt Wars blog series in hopes of enticing Pinkberry to open a branch in Manila. The series started with Cold Spoon and was highlighted by the entry of Red Mango, which until yesterday was the best frozen yogurt in Manila.
Not anymore.
The Pinkberry ambiance is maaliwalas with young, vibrant colors. It is known to have the best interiors among frozen yogurt shops.
I love the floor design, which gives you the feeling of being on a pebbled beach as you lounge on the nicely patterned chairs.
The servers are warm and friendly. They will not rush you and will even try to help you come up with the best yogurt to suit your palate.
It is best to taste all the flavors — original, green tea, watermelon, mango, pomegranate, and chocolate.
Pinkberry’s yogurt is sweet with a bit of a tangy taste (maybe similar to Golden Spoon but more yogurt-y). We personally love the original, green tea and pomegranate flavors.

Their pricing is a bit high, with the 3 oz at P100 already, which is way more expensive than Red Mango or any other fro-yo shops.
Check out the menu with the toppings price. The Small 3 oz comes with 2 toppings at P155, the Medium 5 oz comes with 4 toppings at P220, and the Large 8 oz comes with 6 toppings at P265.
We like pairing our Pinkberry fro-yo with their fresh fruits (not frozen) and their mochi!
We also like a certain texture or crunch with our yogurt, so we add Peanut Butter Crunch…
Green Tea and Pomegranate Frozen Yogurt (Medium 5 oz – P220) with Mochi, Mango, Kiwi and Honey Almond Granola with 140-180 Yogurt Calories.
Here is our creation… You can order two flavors in any cup.
Mango Frozen Yogurt (Small 3 oz – P155) with Mango and Mango toppings with 90-110 Yogurt Calories.
Joshua loves Mango. 🙂 What I like about Pinkberry is that the yogurt has the right level of sweetness and highlights the true taste of the fruit in its flavor.
(I just wish they didn’t use plastic spoons, though…)
We met Rica of Heart to Heart online with her husband and her mom (who owns the Pinkberry franchise in Manila) enjoying a cup of Pinkberry. 🙂
She likes her original flavored fro-yo with fresh fruits.
Thing is, Pinkberry’s entry in Manila is a bit late since the foodies are tired of Frozen Yogurt already and have moved on to the Milk Tea craze. Also, in my recent trip to LA, my brother didn’t even want to take me to Pinkberry anymore and brought me to a Boba tea place instead.
The sweet yogurt taste of Pinkberry and the ambiance have also been preempted by some frozen yogurt shops already, so I’m not really sure how Pinkberry will do in Manila.
One thing is for sure though — we love Pinkberry and we think it is still better than ice cream or gelato.

Take Home Pinkberry Yogurt (P515) with 700-900 calories. It is packed in cube ice and can only last for 2 hours outside the freezer, so it is advisable to buy and bring it straight to your house.
in the last week, i went to tutti frutti over @ robinson, and qoola @ greenbelt. they are both self serve style, and pretty awesome.
i was the only customer at both.

I LOVE WATERMELON!! try it plain. too good! 🙂 they introduced it last year and even made it their special flavor. it was half-off everyday from 3 thru 5 pm. that was their so-called happy hour. wish they have that promo here in manila as well.
If you wish they don’t use plastic spoons what would be your suggestions? Paper spoon??!!! You can’t just try to be “green” just to look good. Be proactive!
There are available biodegradable spoons already which is used by more vendors now in Mercato, Soderno and Distrito.

Almost the same price as the US, which ultimately shows how much of a rip of Pinkberry is in the PI. I’m very sad to see this.

pinkberry is the best yogurt retail in the world 🙂 all flavors is good specially my favorite pomegranate with mango side by side hmm yummy…so go there now and have ur yogurt in pinkberr

Oh I miss Pinkberry! Do you know that my husband, Andrew del Rosario, was Pinkberry’s very first employee? At the time, he and Shelly (the founder) would beg neighbors to try out samples since that tangy, sweet taste was still alien to most people. It used to be a “dream” of ours to bring Pinkberry here in the Philippines (ha!?)! Having worked there and witnessed yogurt junkies, paparazzis, and hollywood celebrities who wouldnt mind lining up all the way from the corner of the block down to the shop and getting parking tickets on huntley drive just to get their fave frozen yogurt, truly was an amazing experience!!! My husband and I now live in Palawan, I hope someone opens a Pinkberry franchise here! ?
