There are times when we want a breather from the boys and go on a date on our own. During these rare occasions, we would go to adults-only places that serve good food.
Chef Carlo’s Beso Cucina Vinoteka is one of those places that serve good Spanish tapas with a good selection of alcoholic drinks, located in Bonifacio High Street Central.
Although, one of the disadvantages of eating on a date is that you can only order food good for two, and you have to be very selective.
We enjoyed our Beso date experience. It’s a good place to hang out for good food and drinks with your special someone. 🙂

Beso Cucina Vinoteka Menu: Tapas | Belota Grade Iberian Cured Meats, Soups, Salads, Tortillas, Pintxos Mouronos | Mains, Paellas | Flat Breads, Desserts
Beso has a dark, romantic ambiance with an open kitchen setup where you can see the chefs preparing the food. It’s good to arrive early (preferably before 7pm) because it gets a little noisy during dinnertime.
Beso Cucina Vinoteka Drinks Menu: Sangria | Single Malt, Whiskey, Bourbon, Cognac | Mixers, Juices, Sparkling Water, Coffee/Tea | White Wines, Red Wines, Premium Red Wines | Vodka, Rhum, Gin, Tequila | Cocktails, Shooters | Beer by the Bottle
The bloody red painting of the Spanish toro in the middle of the restaurant sets the overall mood of Beso. This is a place for yuppies, business people, and for those who want to drink the night away.
★ La Vida Sangria (Carafe – P500+).
We loved the La Vida Sangria, which was priced at a really good value. They are able to provide good value for their drinks because they are partners with the owners of Distillery.
You can enjoy unlimited Sangria during their happy hour (5pm-8pm) for only P500+/head.
The last time I tasted sangria this good was in Dos Mestizos in Boracay.
★ Salmon Croquetas (P280 +10% service charge). Salmon, garlic, herbs, and creamy potato croquetas served with Romesco sauce.
We liked these croquetas with their own romesco sauce. They were crusty on the outside, moist on the inside, and had good flavor.
You can also try their Jamon, Chicken, and Manchego Croquetas.
Squid Ala Plancha (P195 +10% service charge). Squid cooked on a very hot plancha, with garlic, parsley and sherry.
The squid was a bit chewy. The citrusy sauce and crunchy garlic bits were good complements to the otherwise bland squid meat.
★ Beso Paella (P580 +10% service charge). Pork, chorizo, prawns, squid, mussels, clams and bacon.
The dish that we loved the most was the Beso Paella. Good for 2-3 persons, it was served with generous pieces of seafood and very moist rice — its consistency almost similar to risotto. You have to eat the rice with the bits and pieces of chorizo and bacon for a delicious flavor experience.
You don’t have to wait for the paella that long, but I actually wouldn’t mind waiting longer if it meant getting a lot more of the tutong parts.
Now that I think about it, our date would have already been complete even with just an order of the paella and sangria. 🙂
Overall, this Spanish Tapas bar is a great hangout destination in the Bonifacio High Street Central area. We would love to come back during lunchtime to enjoy the dishes with the boys.

P.S. If you have tried Beso Cucina Vinoteka, what other food can you recommend?
This place was quite ok. We loved the jamon croquettas. And since we are such booze drinkers, we loved the sangria, too 😀 !
The beso sangria tasted so much like some refreshing summer punch, we consumed a liter in less than 30 minutes, with comical results of meeting friends and telling them off that they were illegally parked along the streets of Bonifacio High Street 😛
