The Strawberry Farm is located in the nearby town of La Trinidad, Benguet, about less than 10 kms away or 30 minutes travel time from the center of Baguio. The strawberry picking season is from November to May.

You don’t have to reserve slots, but the best time to go is in the morning, when there’s not a lot of people yet. We went during the peak season of the Panagbenga Festival — and the crowd was still manageable.

The Strawberry Farm also produces other fruits and vegetables, but most people just go to pick strawberries. They say that this farm has the best sunset view in La Trinidad Valley.

The natural flowing water around the farm is used to water the strawberries.

You can opt to have a guide who will give you a basket and assist you in picking the ripe fruits.

The strawberry is the only fruit with seeds on the outside. It grows very close to the ground and is a member of the rose family.

It is easy to detect the ripe ones because of their bright red color. Even kids can do it!

The strawberries are very colorful and sweet. It felt very romantic to pick them with our own hands. 🙂

You can succumb to the temptation to eat it and taste for yourself if it’s really sweet.

(Tip: You can eat the strawberries right after picking them or you can bring water to clean them if you’re maselan.)

Strawberries are very delicate, so there’s a lot of wastage from casual pickers (including the ones that people eat).

This is the reason why the cost/kilo of strawberries in the farm is almost doubled.

Our boys had a grand time picking their own strawberries. 🙂 They had so much fun that they requested to go to an orange farm next time.

(Is there an orange farm in Luzon where you can pick your own oranges?)

The retail price in the strawberry farm is P300 per kilo versus the market price of P100-P150/kilo. But you can negotiate it down to P250/kilo.

(How much did you pay for your strawberries picked in the farm? Any tips on bargaining?)

Picking your own strawberries in the strawberry fields of La Trinidad Valley, Benguet is one of the most awesome experiences you can enjoy with your kids while singing…

P.S. Here’s a quick guide on how to get to the Strawberry Farm in La Trinidad, Benguet:

Strawberry Fields are Forever-2.jpg
From Session Road, turn right on Magsaysay Avenue and make sure to turn left at the stoplight (with Baguio Center Mall on your right) for the continuation of Magsaysay Avenue.

Just follow this road, which leads to a flyover, and you should see this mountain full of houses. If in doubt, follow the jeepneys going to La Trinidad.

You know you are on the right track if you see the “Welcome to La Trinidad” arch on the border of Baguio and La Trinidad.

Just go straight for 15 minutes and watch out for the small Jollibee Strawberry Farm sign on the right side of the road.

You won’t miss the left turn because it has a very prominent “Welcome to Strawberry Farm” sign sponsored by Jollibee.

After the turn, you’ll immediately see the Strawberry Farm on your right with the market stalls and a huge parking lot.
