SKY RANCH: Tagaytay’s Sky Eye Experience @SkyFunPark

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-30.jpg

The Tagaytay Eye, officially known as “Sky Eye”, is the Tallest Ferris Wheel in the country at 63 meters (207 ft) with 32 gondolas, beating the MOA Eye at 55 meters (180 ft) with 36 gondolas, and the Enchanted Kingdom’s Wheel of Fate at 130ft.

We are still far away from beating the tallest ferris wheels in the world: Singapore Flyer at 165 meters (541 ft), Star of Nanchang in China at 160 meters (525 ft.), and the London Eye at 120 meters (394 ft.)

But considering Tagaytay City has an elevation of 2,000 ft. above sea level, you’ll be enjoying the highest point of the Sky Eye at 2,207 ft. 🙂

Here are some tips to have an awesome time at Sky Fun Park in Sky Ranch, Tagaytay:

(Note: Sky Ranch is the complex, Sky Fun is the name of the amusement park within Sky Ranch, and Sky Eye is the name of the Ferris Wheel in Tagaytay.)

What’s new in Tagaytay in 2013 Series:

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-3.jpg
The Entrance Fee is P100 — and it’s on a 50% discount promotion until end of May.
(If you are a Taal Vista Checked-In guest, you should be able to get in for free.)

Check out the Sky Fun Rates and Individual Ride Ticket Prices.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-35.jpg
Kids below 3ft are free for the entrance fee and the carousel ride.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-145.jpg
The center of attention is the Tagaytay Eye, which commands a huge presence along the ridge.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-17.jpg
You have to buy tickets for each ride individually. They don’t have a ride-all-you-can ticket or packaged rates at the moment. It can get chaotic, especially if there’s a huge crowd on weekends.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-13.jpg
Sky Eye (P150/head, including the babies).

Aidan was a bit scared and was unsure if he wanted to ride the ferris wheel.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-90.jpg
We had to buy potato fries to keep the boys entertained throughout the Sky Eye trip.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-93.jpg
The ride is one loop around, which lasts for 10 minutes.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-120.jpg
The gondolas are a bit small and the leg room can only fit 4 people.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-114.jpg
We asked if we could all be accommodated in one gondola, reasoning that we could carry Baby Raphael anyway.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-96.jpg
Aidan was afraid of heights and he kept on babbling about not riding the ferris wheel ever again. His two brothers, Joshua and Raphael were just cool about it.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-104.jpg
As you approach the top, you’ll have a 360o-view of the ridge and also see Taal Lake.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-108.jpg
The ideal time to go is during sunset, but it can get very cold (so we decided to ride while the sun is still up).

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-112.jpg
Beside Sky Fun, they are building a Science Discovery Museum and…

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-99.jpg
… a row of restaurants to complete the Sky Ranch experience.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-143.jpg
Overall, we felt that the ride was not worth it for 1 loop, 10 minutes at P150/head (including the baby). I imagine it would be romantic to go with your special someone, though.

At least, you can say you have experienced the tallest ferris wheel in the country. 🙂

SKY FUN ATTRACTIONS

Here are the other fun attractions that the kids can enjoy:

The Super Viking is for adults, and Aidan can’t wait to grow up to be able to try it.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-149.jpg
Horse Back Riding (P250/30 minutes per person).

The horseback riding is a bit expensive, considering you just go around a looped trail.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-142.jpg
You can also let your kids try this water ball.

NESSI COASTER

Nessi Coaster (P50/head). Read Fun and Safety Rules

But, for our boys, the winning attraction of all is the Nessi Coaster!

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-58.jpg
It’s a mini-roller coaster that is safe even for the young ones.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-129.jpg
It goes all the way to the top and goes down into a spiral loop.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-140.jpg
Wheeee!

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-141.jpg
We had to ride this two times because the boys loved the adrenaline rush.

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-28.jpg
Best of all, you can appreciate the Tagaytay View for free. 🙂

SKY FUN at SKY RANCH-33.jpg
We loved our overall experience in the Sky Fun Park. Riding the Sky Eye and Nessi Coaster was quite an experience for the boys. Try to head there during weekdays, when there are less crowds. Budget about P400/head.

  1. Was the sky eye 30 or 10 minutes?
Would you know if one can bring food in and eat at the gazeebo?
and lastly, what’s the riding loop ride shown on the entrance rates?
    Thanks

  2. @Andre – yes this is owned by SM.
@Marty – I corrected the article that 1 loop is just 10 minutes.
The horses are managed separately with P250 per head per 30 minutes.
On gazebo, you might not be able to bring because they have food concessionaires 🙁
