CAPITOL COMMONS is the 10-hectare mixed used development of Ortigas group located at Meralco Avenue corner Shaw Boulevard where the Rizal Provincial Capitol was previously located.

The Capitol Commons area is now open to public traffic, and the Capitol Commons Information Center is the first building built to showcase the vision of the area.
The Royalton, a high-end condominium, will be the first commercial development in the area.
It will have 67 floors and the units are getting sold fast. Check out the availability of units here.
The Low Zone (Level 6 – 37) will have 8 units per floor.
The High Zone (Level 38-65) will have 6 units/floor and (Level 66-67) will have 5 units/floor.

There’s a common park area in the center of the development which is used as an events place. This is where the Festival of World Class Filipinos event is held every Saturday until June 15.
FESTIVAL OF WORLD CLASS FILIPINOS
In celebration of its 82nd anniversary and the launch of their most recent masterpiece – Capitol Commons, premiere property developer Ortigas & Company brings world-class Filipino acts back to the local stage with the month-long Festival of World Class Filipinos at Capitol Commons. From May 25 to June 15, each Saturday will feature Filipino artists who have received international acclaim for their talents.

Evening concert by pop group The CompanY
Mercato Centrale group provided the yummy food to complement the world class exhibit and performances every Saturday night starting at 6pm.
It’s a mini-night food market affair with a class ambiance 🙂

Yeah… let me share with you my VERY VERY VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE here… well, at first I didn’t know that this place have what they call “food truck” and it was introduce to me by a friend. So what my friend did she drove her car to the place for me to see and to get familiar with, if incase I want a place to go to and eat! One evening, well just recently, this Friday lang, me and my boyfie decided to eat somewhere bec I told him I don’t like to go home yet, but since I work in Makati, I told him we could eat there first. After that, we rode to our motorbike and decided to go home… but again, since I live in Ortigas, I convinced my boyfriend to drive there and told him that I wanted us to eat there next time (since we are full na). So we went inside and we were so much delighted to see that we don’t need to eat in Makati na to enjoy the food truck… UNFORTUNATELY, on our way inside, 3 to 4 guards have to STOP us everytime just to ask us what we will be doing. NAKAKAPIKON! It’s as if we were criminals na kailangang patigilin!!! Well I felt maybe bec we are riding a motorbike so they DISCRIMINATE US!! Well, fine, discriminate us all you want, may KARMA naman for you! From NOW on, I wouldn’t dare to eat there!!! Never mind, andami naman nyan sa Tiendesitas, Ayala and Trinoma at kung saan saan pa!! F*** YOU!!
Madami kasing crimes na dinudulot ang motorbikes lately. Baka naman they’re just being protective and discriminating. Duh. Mas okay nga yun for the safety of the public e.

Quite definitely, we need more of these kinds of developments… a departure from high density, and tall, suffocating buildings with limited accessibility and very little open space to move about. Eastwood is an example of a development design gone completely insane, where the developer has an insatiable need to put “something” on every square inch of real estate within a small area.
Greenhills is an example of a good design, but it is now too small and crowded for anybody to enjoy themselves. It is no secret that just getting a parking space within the mall is an absolute challenge.
Getting out of Greenhills is an equally daunting experience, heading out to either Edsa or Ortigas. I think Ortigas and Co. have the right idea in their new development across Edsa. They just have to tweak their security policies and orient their security guards, to curb their their overzealous behaviour. After all, the place is not a military garrison but a place for people to relax and enjoy. Put in more CCTV… its less intrusive than being confronted by clueless security guards who can ruin the day for some shoppers who are out to have a good time. Of course, bittersweet08’s experience was over two years ago… maybe things have changed since.
