As we enter the second week of relief operations for Typhoon Yolanda, here are 8 more creative ways to help Typhoon Yolanda victims for this week…
1. HELP CAPIZ!
80% of the structures and infrastructure in Capiz were destroyed.
The winds were as strong as what they experienced in Tacloban because the city was in the direct path of the storm.
The only difference is that they didn’t have a storm surge, which lessened the number of casualties.
You can coordinate directly with Ronnie Dadivas’ Office, ABC-CBN Roxas c/o Joanne Dadivas.
2. SUPPORT PROJECT WHEEL CHAIR
Support this unique campaign to provide a wheelchair for a disabled child in need.
You can also join the intimate dinner at Pepita’s Kitchen this coming November 27, Wednesday to support the project.

5. THANK TOURISTS FOR THEIR SUPPORT
The Department of Tourism (DOT) is distributing bookmarks at the International Airports, including NAIA 1, 2, 3, and the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA). This effort was initiated by the Department of Tourism last Wednesday, November 13, for outbound foreign visitors as a token for bearing with the Filipino people during this most difficult time.
We understand that most of these departing foreigners were in the Philippines when Yolanda hit us, and in one way or another, they might have been inconvenienced during their stay with us. As a token of apology and appreciation, we are giving away these bookmarks to foreign tourists leaving the country in hopes that they will realize that we appreciate them for having the Philippines as their destination of choice.
6. VOLUNTEER IN OPERATION HATID AT VILLAMOR AIR BASE & MOBILE ART KITCHEN
Most of the people affected in Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban are now relocated at Villamor Air Base. Please volunteer your time and support them by bringing them home to their families here in Manila.

- Candies: less than a bag
- Barako coffee: 5 bags

- Condensed: 4 cans
- Baguio beans: 1/2 kilo
- Potato: 1 kilo
- Cabbage: 2 heads
- Spring onions: 1 bundle
- Saba: 2 kilos
- Bell pepper: 100 grams
- Patis: 2 gallons
- Microwavable boxes: 8 packs
- 100 pcs paper plate
- Plastic spoons; approx 200 pcs
- Plastic fork: less than 50
- Plastic cups: 400 pcs
- Styro cups: 75 pcs
- Paper cups: less than 200
Calling for FOOD TRUCKS that can help in preparation, and cooking the food faster; and Chiller Truck that can be beside the tents to use for storage of ice and the meat.
7. SIGN STAND WITH THE PHILIPPINES PETITION
Why this is important
Last weekend’s Super Typhoon Haiyan made landfall in my family’s hometown. The devastation is so staggering, that I’m struggling to find words to describe how I feel about the losses and damages we have suffered from this.
I spent two days agonizing over the fate of my relatives. But when I finally reached my brother, it filled me with renewed strength and great relief. He survived the onslaught, and for the last few days, he has been helping gather dead bodies. He is hungry and weary as food supplies find it difficult to arrive in the hardest hit areas.
But beyond the colossal humanitarian challenge ahead, we must take the courage to face the truth: the superstorm was not just another natural disaster — it was made stronger and more deadly by human-caused climate change. For too long, those countries with the greatest capacity to act and greatest responsibility for the problem have shirked their obligations to cut pollution as the science demands. That has locked-in climate change, and could lock-in even worse impacts to come.
So I’ve taken a rare step as a public servant — I’ve gone beyond the usual conventions to start an Avaaz petition. I’m appealing to Avaaz members to stand in solidarity with the people of the Philippines and all victims of climate change worldwide. Together our voices can push the governments meeting at the UN climate summit happening now to ratchet up pollution controls and help poorer communities with funding.
The question that will determine our survival is: can humanity rise to the occasion? I still believe we can. Sign the petition today, and forward it to everyone, and I will deliver it personally at the talks.

8. TEACH THE CHILDREN TO SUPPORT RELIEF EFFORTS

This is the best time to teach the kids to be compassionate for other kids who were affected by the typhoon. Bring them to your alma mater and support the relief efforts.
