ERIC KAYSER is an authentic French Artisan Boulangerie in Manila, which is a licensed partnership between Eric Kayser and his local partners, Jacky Ang, Kelvin Gaisano, and Chris Tiu. Eric Kayser has 96 stores in 17 countries, with the Philippines as the latest expansion.
You should notice the difference in the taste and texture of their bread because of their signature Natural Liquid Leaven, which sets it apart from the yeast-based breads in Manila. Eric Kayser demanded to have a commissary from the start and sent his trained French bakers in Manila to ensure the top quality of the breads, following the tradition of using a long natural fermentation process, slow kneading, and small-scale production.
Gone are the days of flown-in frozen French breads. The key is to baking fresh daily using top quality ingredients and following a strict artisan production process. Once you’ve tasted the Eric Kayser difference, it will be very hard to appreciate other French breads in town.
Here’s what we love about Eric Kayser…

Eric Kayser opened its flagship boulangerie and cafe in Promenade Greenhills. They also put up Grab & Go store locations at Rustan’s Marketplace in Rockwell, Rustan’s Makati and soon, Rustan’s Central Square.
The Eric Kayser store offers the complete line up of French breads, plus sandwiches, pizza, salad, quiche, and coffee. 🙂
It’s a great place for all-day comfort food dining and coffee. Check out the Eric Kayser Menu.
I like the breads because they have a very good bite, are soft but fun to chew, and have a hazelnutty taste.
#1: CROISSANTS
The croissants are awesome! Crispy multiple layers and a good, sweet texture when you bite into them.
✮ Chocolate & Almond Croissant (P85/piece).
While I love the Chocolate version, the best ones are the Almond Croissants. 🙂
#2: COOKIES
✮ Chocolate Cookies (P90/piece).
My wife absolutely loves these, especially the Dark and White Chocolate versions. They don’t scrimp on the ingredients. Though they’re very rich, you can’t help but finish one in a single sitting.
Can’t go wrong giving these to your loved ones. 🙂
Cappuccino (P130/cup), Raspberry Financier (P125/piece)
The cookies go well with their coffee. Also try the financier, which is a moist French muffin.
#3: KOUIGN AMANN
Sinfully good! It’s like a sweet and flaky croissant donut. Very addicting, so stay away from this. 🙂
#4: EKMEK
If you really want to taste how good the breads are without the sweetness, try this Turkish sourdough. Crusty on the outside, very soft inside, chewy, and good flavor on its own. Best dunked in your morning coffee (it absorbs it well like a pandesal). 🙂
#5: FOUR CHEESE WITH HONEY SANDWICH
✮ Four Cheese with Honey (P225).
If you’re dining in for breafkast or merienda, I recommend the four cheese bread, which you drizzle with honey. The bread itself is not too thick nor too heavy to eat, toasted just right on the outside, and soft inside (it resembles a tasty version of Shibuya toast).
#6: SHRIMP & APPLES ON CROISSANT
✮ Shrimp & Apples on Croissant (P260/piece).
I also recommend this awesome combination of shrimp with slices of apples, vegetable salad, and their signature croissant. A healthy and yummy winning combination! 🙂
#7: CROQUE MADAME
For breakfast, try their ham, cheese, and egg made more special by the Eric Kayser bread.
#8 VEINNOISE
✮ Chocolate Chip Veinnoise (P90/piece).
Order this sweeter type of bread. It comes with fillings like chocolate chips, walnut, or red delice.
#9 CURCURMA
Veinnoise Curcuma (P90/piece).
This is a signature Eric Kayser bread that grows on you. It’s textured curry bread with big walnuts.
Grilled Chicken Avocado on Curcuma (P245).
In the store, you can eat it with grilled chicken and avocado. The taste of the bread is weird at first, but the more I tried it, the more I loved it.
#10 PASTRIES/ PROFITEROLLES
All the pastries are baked fresh daily in house. They’ll soon have Macarons as part of their offering.
✮ Salted Caramel Eclair (P125/piece).
Their salted caramel eclair is one of the best I’ve tasted. It has a good form, is not too soft, and has just the right sweetness. This is best eaten fresh; it doesn’t taste that good when frozen.
Thank you to Chris Tiu and Janelle Chua for the wonderful conversation and the Eric Kayser treat. 🙂
You have to try the Almond Croissant, Dark Chocolate Cookie, Kouign Amann, Four Cheese with Honey, and Shrimp & Apples on Croissant. You can also enjoy all of the Eric Kayser breads at home, but since they’re baked fresh and without preservatives, they only last for a few days. Budget about P300 on average.
The next time you’re having a meeting or going to the movies in the Greenhills promenade area, don’t miss the opportunity to taste the ERIC KAYSER difference.

P.S. Don’t forget to check out their Fougasse, too, which is like a thick flat bread pizza.
Prosciutto & Tomato (P260). The bread is good but a bit thick and overpowers the toppings.
soft opening sa rustans makati. yun mga nakapatong lang dun sa harap may mga lumilipad na langaw ano ba yan. namili ako ng paris-brest and eclairs. ok ok lang. tama lang yun price. yun iba ang mahal.
Hi, Anton how are you? Thanks for your nice post. I love different kinds of breads and pastries especially with fresh brewed coffee, hot chocolate, or hot tea. Have a nice day always.
Their Curcuma bread is my favorite.
Turmeric and Hazelnuts are a perfect and classy combination. I tried a Cauliflower with Turmeric and Hazelnut soup once. Divine!
