City Kart Racing (CKR for short) founded by Jean-Marc Freihuber is a 700-meter go-cart racetrack in Makati that has a combination of straight and technical turns possible for both beginners and advanced drivers.
The OAP team tried the racing track during the media challenge for the “Race to Boracay – Search for the fastest driver in Manila!”

City Kart Racing chairman Jean-Marc Freihuber, says this is the best racetrack he ever designed!
It is designed with a bridge, a tunnel and sweeping corners.
The facilities are equipped with function halls, a mini bar and a dining area for team activities building and corporate events.
Before starting the race, you have to first log in using your email or Facebook account.
Your profile pictures will be used as screen names/shots. Plus, your speed and time on the track will automatically be emailed or posted in Facebook.
In CKR, safety is the number one priority following the strict European standards.
You’ll be briefed about the safety guidelines before suiting up.
For sanitary purposes, you have to wear a mask before putting on your helmet.
Go to the track and ride the go-carts in the starting line.
Driving the go-cart is simple. There are two pedals to remember – the right pedal for the gas and the left pedal for the brakes.
As you drive there will be crew members holding flags and you have to pay attention on what they mean…
Yellow flag means danger ahead and be careful, such as a car has stalled in front of you.
Blue flag means someone faster is driving behind you.

Overall, the City Kart Racing experience is awesome for those looking for a competitive bonding experience! The crew was fast at assisting whenever a car stopped in the middle or when you get yourself in trouble.
Tip: For beginners, the best way to enter a corner with speed is by following the ‘racing line,’ where you enter the turn from the outside line, hitting the inner part of the corner called the apex, and exiting at the outside line again.

P.S. For all you speed enthusiast, City Kart Racing is holding it’s biggest racing event of the year and everyone is welcome to join
City Kart will be launching it’s first major competition for the year, “Race to Boracay”, expecting more than 500 drivers to vie for the title of the “fastest driver”. That could possibly become the biggest motorsports event in the country.
The competition involves four stages. First is the qualifying round where all participants will be given five chances to come up with their best lap time. This will determine their entry for the pre-final round, which will accommodate 200 drivers. From there, 50 drivers will be chosen to take part in the finale. The top ten will then go on and race for the title of the “fastest driver”.
There will be 2 categories, the juniors (13 to 17 years old) and the adults (18 years old and above). Awaiting the winners of each category at the finish line is a 3-day-20-night hotel certificate and round trip airfare for two to Boracay. Special treats are also in store for the two runners up, while other drivers will get a chance to win goodies in the raffle.
When you’re the competitive type, City Kart Makati app is available for download in IOS and Android. The CKR’s state-of-the-art timing system records lap times up to a thousand second, with guaranteed precision! You can have fun comparing your speed, stat and ranking with fellow racers.
Schedule of activities for Race to Boracay:
October 23 – November 14: Qualifying rounds (any day except Saturday and Sunday afternoon)
November 22: Pre Finale
November 23: Finale, grand finale, awarding and raffle
Entry fee is priced at P3900, which includes five qualifying round. Early birds who register before October 17 will get one free practice run.

The Website hasn’t been updated for almost a year now “Ongoing Promo” that is still posted on the website was only up to February 2014.
The Facebook Page’s last update was way back in 2013.
