SULONG MANILA 2015

MANILA, Philippines – Manila will experience a unique and more festive Yule season this year as the city government, headed by Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada, in cooperation with the Mare Foundation, will bring the country’s first-ever 3-D video mapping pyro/laser lights musical, Sulong Manila 2015 Countdown over the stretch of Roxas Boulevard on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31.

Manila Bay skies will burst with magical colors through a grand display of laser lights and massive fireworks playing to well-loved Christmas songs.

A similarly colorful pre-event activity at the Rajah Soliman Plaza, Malate, will usher in the Sulong Manila 2015 Countdown from Dec. 24 to 30.

Audiences will have the chance to savor the magic of Christmas by way of a 3-D video mapping projection skit that will bring life to buildings around the area. The 10-minute showcase will feature one family’s inspiring Christmas story.

Sponsored by ICTSI and Manila North Harbor, the first-of-its-kind event is a project of the Mare Foundation, chaired by former Sen. Loi Ejercito.

Mare Foundation is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life of underprivileged Filipinos through various development programs.

Over the years, Mare Foundation has implemented livelihood programs around the country. It also provided alternative sources of income to underprivileged families like the hog-raising project in Iriga, Camarines Sur.

It also delivers health assistance through medical/dental/surgical missions in depressed areas nationwide and provides micro-financing projects in Metro Manila.

Happy sa 2015: TV 5 New Year’s Eve Countdown

The festivities will start at 10 a.m. with TV5′s New Year Artista Search, where aspiring actors can get their much-awaited break in the entertainment industry. The winner of the search will have a chance to perform live before the expected 15, 000 attendees of the countdown.

At 11 p.m., the Kapatid stars will also appear during the countdown to be hosted by Ogie Alcasid, Gelli de Belen, Derek Ramsay, and Alice Dixson. Expect special performances by Kuh Ledesma, Gab Valenciano, Jasmine Curtis-SMith, Philippine All Stars, Talentadong Pinoy 2014 finalists, NEIL, Empoy, and more.

The fireworks display will start at 11: 40 p.m. and will end at 12:15 a.m. It will be followed by a street party featuring live band shows, street performances, an LGBT parade, and performances courtesy of the MVP Group.

For those who cannot make it to the venue, the countdown will be broadcast live at TV5 starting at 10:30 p.m.
