ANU’MAN is the first and only LGBT safe Kitchen + Pub with the tagline: “come OUT, we’re OPEN“.
It is owned by a diverse mix of LGBT members and straight allies, a place where people can enjoy good company and food without fear of judgment or prejudice. In Filipino, anuman literally means “anything” or “whatever”.
Here’s our first look at Anu’man and what we think about the food…

Anu’man Menu: Warm Up, Main Event, Rice Meals, Extra Pounds | Bar Chow and Drinks
The menu is comfort Filipino and American food, with quirky names and good value for money (less than P300 per dish).
The beautiful doble kara mural was created by renowned graffiti artist Dee Jae Pa’este.
★ Becky Beef on Shrooms: Beef Short Ribs Red Wine Stew (P225 +10% service charge)
Our favorite is this tender beef with mushroom in red wine sauce, topped with garlic bits and alfalfa sprouts to balance the flavor.
★ Hot na Hipon: Spicy Aligue Gambas Served with Baguette (P250 +10% service charge)
Another good appetizer is the shrimps sauteed in spicy aligue sauce with a touch of lemon.
Barbecue Sisig with Rice: Ang Pinakamakisig na Sisig sa Balat ng Lupa (P175 +10% service charge)
The barbecue take was interesting but the sisig lacked crunch and was a bit fatty.
Kilig to the Balls: Mozzarella Stuffed Meatball Pasta (P175 +10% service charge)
The pasta sauce was good but the meatballs were a bit tough.
Tipsy Beef (not the pig): Beef ShortRibs Red Wine Stew (P225 +10% service charge)
The execution was a bit oilier than expected. Still good recovery food after a night out of drinking.
The Gong-Gongs Rice: Bagoong Rice (P150 +10% service charge)
Most of the dishes come with sauce so they’re best eaten with rice.
★ Pusit Pusit Some More: Sweet and Spicy Squid (P250 +10% service charge)
Squid was cooked well, not tough, and served with a good balance of sweet and spicy sauce.
Asked for the Kahit Anuman dessert of the day to end on a sweet note. This slice of cake was a bit too sweet and rich for us.
I like the ANU’MAN concept of eating without prejudice. I also like the vibe of the place, hidden in the alley yet very welcoming (to both LGBT and straight people).
Order the Becky Beef on Shrooms, Hot na Hipon, and Sweet and Spicy Squid for a good comforting meal while you hang out with friends.
Congratulations to Anu’man for being bold and creating a safe haven for our LGBT friends and a place where you can actually come out and be accepted.

I didn’t know that LGBTs are banned from other restaurants.
Could you let me know if all kitchens in the Philippines were unsafe for gay people until this restaurant opened?
There’s already safe places for LGBTs to wine and dine… They’re called gay bars.
They’ve wanted to be treated equal but having this type of restaurant or the slogan itself LGBT safe kitchen, they are the one stereotyping themselves to the whole community.
Do you understand the concept of the resto itself?it is not stereotyping….just get a life or you get a meal there for you to experience you blockhead blogger
Excuse me…they are not banned…owners are just creative to come up with this concept but everybody’s welcome lgbt or not..it just means you go there as you are, be real without prejudice
