When it comes to delicious, affordable food, Good Taste Restaurant & Café in Baguio has become a time-honored local favorite.

This 24/7 establishment leans heavily towards Chinese cuisine, but western pastries like cupcakes and assorted bread are also available.

Here are our personal recommendations from Good Taste…

At almost any given hour, you will find an influx of hungry customers walking into the establishment—locals call it the “food factory” for this very reason!

Tables fill up so fast that you may have to queue at peak hours like during lunch or dinner.

One of the unique selling points of Good Taste is how it does not skimp on quality in spite of the low prices.

While you wait for your food, you can avail of the unlimited free soup.

The soup is a consommé that is reminiscent of Tinola, a stew of chicken and green papaya with ginger.

Chop Suey (P145) Black Fungus, cabbage, green beans, shrimp, chicken, cauliflower, and carrots.

The vegetables are crisp and flavorful, while the shrimp is tender—you can taste the freshness in every bite.

Note: It is said that the owner of Good Taste also owns a market, making high land produce readily available at cheaper prices.

Fried Chicken (P300) Whole chicken deep-fried until the skin is crisp.

The juicy chicken is well seasoned that you don’t even need the gravy.

Fried Siomai (P145) Pork siomai fried until golden, served with a side of soy-vinegar with chili.

The sauce helps cut the grease of the Siomai, which makes for a fantastic “pulutan” or “finger food”.

Shanghai Lumpia (P165) Minced meat with garlic and spices, served with a side of sweet chili sauce.

While the Lumpia is quite tasty on its own, the sweet chili sauce adds a different flavor profile and complements the saltiness.

Fried Rice (P150)

What we love about the fried rice is the fact that you can feed six people for the price of P150!

Good Taste Restaurant & Café is a must-visit in Baguio for any traveler, especially if you’re on a tight budget.

Not only is this an economical choice, but the quality of food is unexpectedly decent for that price range. For less than 1,500, you can have a dinner for around 10 people.

Remember to get the Chop Suey, Lumpiang Shanghai, Fried Chicken, Fried Wonton, and Fried Rice for affordable good meals.

We can honestly say that Good Taste tastes good!
