On February 17 – 19, 2017, the Filipino-Chinese Bakery Association, Inc. (FCBAI) will be holding the 9th International Exhibition on Bakery, Confectionary and Foodservice Equipment & Supplies dubbed as “Bakery Fair 2017” at the World Trade Centre, Metro Manila.
The Filipino-Chinese Bakery Association, Inc. (FCBAI) is a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote harmony, unity and strong relationships with allied businesses, strengthening the core of members and uplift the baking industry.
Bakery Fair is a biennial event which started in 2001 and is organized to showcase under one roof the technological advancement and techniques in baking, gain competitive intelligence about market leaders and to track industry trends and its opportunities.
It is participated in by its members of the Filipino Chinese Bakery Association and allied industry players. Furthermore, it is supported by the 13 country-members of the International Federation of Confectionary and Bakery Association (IFCBCA).

There will be a series of competitions that will launch our talented Filipino Bakers to international recognition in the “Baker’s Cup Competition:”
1. SAF Gold 2017 Bakers Cup
First of the competitions under Bakers Cup 2017 is the “SAF GOLD 2017 BAKERS CUP” brought by Filipino-Chinese Bakery Association Inc., Sonlie International, Inc. and Bakery Fair 2017 in partnership with Bacolod Negros Occidental Bakers Association (BACNOBA), Davao Bakers Club, Inc., Philippine Baking Institute and Lesaffre.
Elimination round of the competition was held last October 20, 2016 for Luzon contestants at FCBAI Research and Training Institute. Likewise, elimination for Visayas & Mindanao contestants was held last October.
Final round will be on February 17, 2017 during the Bakery Fair 2017 at the World Trade Centre Manila.
2. Angel Yeast Steam Buns Competition
Another competition that will be conducted is the “Angel Yeast Steam Buns Competition”.
Elimination round will be on February 3 & 4 at the FCBAI Research and Training Institute.
Final round will takes place at the World Trade Centre Manila on the second day of the fair, February 18, 2017.
3. The 1st Philippine Pasalubong Challenge
On the last day of the Bakery Fair, February 19, 2017, final round of the last competition that will be held is the “The 1st Philippine Pasalubong Challenge”.
Elimination of this is on February 1, 2 & 5 at the FCBAI Research and Training Institute.

Additional highlight of the three-day event aside from the competitions are seminars to be conducted by well-known suppliers to the baking industry, namely:

Demonstrations
A Taiwan baking demonstration to be conducted by Chou, Ching-Yuan (Taiwan National Treasure for Chinese Pastry) will also be conducted to be followed by its book launching.
Exhibits
There will be over 200 local and foreign exhibitors who will be participating and over 7,000 attendees are expected per day and covering more than 15,000 square meters of space of World Trade Center Manila.
The Bakery Fair 2017 will surely bring a lot of excitement, innovative ideas and creative techniques for each and every visitor with baking seminars, product demonstrations, cake displays and competitions from world class bakers and different companies.
