THE BEACHFRONT
What’s a trip to Boracay without experiencing one of the “Top Ten Beaches in the World” according to CNN?
The White Beach is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or trying water sports like parasailing.
Spend a day playing on Discovery Shore’s wide beachfront with its distinct powdery fine white sand and crystalline turquoise waters.
I love the personal butlers that arrange your lounge bed, give you free towels, and even look after your personal belongings when you take a dip.
THE ROOMS
The rooms make you feel like you’re on a staycation! The resort combines modern architecture and design with traditional features, creating a very inviting and comfortable balance.
The views from the bedrooms are my favorite, with a full height window that lets resort guests make the most of them.
The owners love art, so iconic paintings are in each room of the Discovery properties.
Junior Suite
We stayed at the Junior Suite, which is their most standard room. The room perfectly fits three people.
As part of their signature warm greeting, you get a beach bag complete with skin care products to protect you from the sun and mosquitoes…
…as well as fresh tropical sweets to satisfy your cravings!
The standard rooms are about 40-45 sqm. They are furnished with one king size bed (or two queen size beds) and an extra day bed that’s perfect for lounging and accommodating a third guest.
Each room is complete with basic toiletries (shampoo, soap, conditioner, toothbrush).
The bathrooms are big, with a full glass wall overlooking a scenic rock garden.
I love the complimentary signature foot wash!
One Bedroom Suite
The 65-sqm One-Bedroom Suite includes a spacious living area, a bar, and a separate bedroom with two queen size beds.
The L-shaped sofa in the living area doubles as a sleeping space for two additional guests.
There’s a bathtub too!
Two-Bedroom Suite Premier
Their most luxurious room is the Two-Bedroom Suite complete with an outdoor private jacuzzi overlooking an amazing view of the white beach and fiery sunset of Boracay.
Boasting 120 sqm of interior space, the two-level suite has the same features as the Two-Bedroom Suites…
…but with private bedrooms located separately–one on the first level, and the other on the mezzanine level.
THE POOL
Besides the busy beach, a visit to the Discovery Shores pool is a must! It’s an ideal place for the gang and family to hang out.
Located on the ground level, guests can enjoy the jacuzzi, poolside bar, and butlers armed with complimentary towels, treats, and even mist to help cool you off from the summer heat.
There’s also a kiddie level area that’s shallow and safe for kids!
There area complimentary pastries, juices, and treats by the poolside bar–perfect after a tiring day in the pool.
Loving the inflatable toys that help make for the perfect dronefie!
BUTLER PARADE
Discovery Shores only gets better with their butler parade service every 4 pm by the pool side and beachfront. They come armed with pastries, treats, and wet towels to pamper the guests.
They even have mist and cucumber slices to freshen you up.
I also love how the staff greets you by name.
Wondering what to do and where to go? The staff has got you covered and can act as your concierge! Beyond their magnificent beachfront, adventures await you. If you want to find the best pizza, shake, or night club in Boracay, the staff will teach you which direction of Boracay to go.
BREAKFAST AT SANDS
Spend your mornings greeted by a spectacular view of the ocean!
We love their healthy breakfast offerings, especially their smoked salmon, mangoes, hakaw, bacon, and unlimited supply of Yakult!
Sands offers a wide array of breakfast selections, including American breakfast with fresh fruits, eggs, bacon, waffles, pancakes, and jams.
They cook bacon in two-ways–floppy and crispy.
The salad section with fresh greens, cold cuts, cheese, and smoked salmon.
Head over to their Chinese section offering hakaw (shrimp dumplings), steamed vegetables, congee, and pork buns.
There are also Filipino breakfast favorites such as tapa, adobo, tocino, and garlic rice.
Don’t forget to grab freshly baked pandesal from the roving servers.
You should also watch out for their main dishes such as the Pork Sisig Roulade…
…and the pan fried tanigue (wahoo fish) in steak sauce.
They also have special fresh juice concoctions that change daily.
A trip to the Visayas region won’t be complete without sweet mangoes!
THE SANDBOX
The Sandbox is Discovery’s complimentary day care center where kids aged 0-12 can play with various stuffed toys, board games, and video games!
There are also different daily activities like painting shirts, Filipino games, and baking cookies!
SUNSET SHINDIG
White sand, pristine waters, and a dramatic sunset all make for the perfect scene in this tropical haven. Advantageous to the resort is their beachfront that offers a front row seat to the best sunset in the world!
Discovery is one of the best places to have a mojito, especially during this time!
I love lounging on their beach beds while using their fast internet and people watching.
The lychee, mango, and calamansi mojito are their signature concoctions that guests come and look for.
A traditional take on the mojito using Philippine lemon (calamansi), the acidity comes from both the lime and calamansi. The calamansi gives the mojito a sweeter note.
TERRA WELLNESS SPA
I tried their signature massage “Terra’s Touch”, a deep relaxing massage that combines graceful gliding strokes that are said to relieve tension and aid in blood circulation.
I loved their welcome drink and foot ritual before the treatment. You have the option to choose the blended therapeutic oil that best suits you.
The therapist was very professional, polite, and knowledgeable. I enjoyed her massage–it was very relaxing and made me doze off for a few minutes. After the massage, we were given hot towels and offered spicy ginger tea. I felt very rejuvenated after the treatment.
We love Discovery Shores Boracay! Staying here doesn’t feel like your a tourist at all. You’re treated as a VIP in a hospitable Filipino’s home.
It’s a timeless masterpiece along the pristine white sand beaches of Boracay. The food choices, rooms, amenities, excellent service, quiet beachfront, and fantastic view of the sunset are the reasons we keep coming back.
Although there will be new hotels coming in with better amenities, Discovery Shores Boracay will always have the best service–genuine Filipino hospitality that is the signature of their brand.
