The brunch scene in Manila is getting exciting. The popular Southeast Asian eatery, Your Local, in Legaspi recently changed their opening hours to 8.00 am daily, offering breakfast curated by Chef Natalia Moran of Boracay fame.

We tried all the breakfast menu items, together with the drinks, and here’s what we recommend.
A tropical pancake with the gula melaka mixed into the coconut and chia, with sweet kaya jam and mango for sweetness.
We had to fight with our boys over each bit of kaya and mango to eat with a piece of pancake. Sarap nito!
We did a taste test of all the drinks, and our favorites were Cranny Smith, Passion Fruit (topped with burnt orange) and Lemonade with ginger and almond.
Loved the smoked salmon and egg combination, with greens, cheese, and black brioche bun to make the salmon burger special.
The little one enjoyed the fries with cheese and truffle ketchup. 🙂 So easy to please.
I think this combination did not work with a mushy egg topping, and I still like my beef rendang with rice.
If you are on a staycation in Makati, it’s easy to walk around Legaspi Village and enjoy the Your Local breakfast mornin’ vibe.
This was like grounded salmon given an otak otak texture, pan-fried in banana leaves and served as a silog version.
The best drink for the morning was the dragon fruit shake topped with coconut—so refreshingly unique to start your day.
Chicken with shrimp paste flavor and pandan-flavored waffle with palm-sugar syrup (think taho sweetener).
Loved the sauce of the pork belly with coconut rice flavor, flossy egg and a sweet and spicy anchovy sauce. Yum!
Final Thoughts
Our favorites are Coconut Gula Melaka Pancakes, Glazed Pork Nasi Lemak and Purple Coconut drink for breakfast. Make sure to go with the family or your team to enjoy and mix and match some of the dishes. Budget about ₱500/head + drinks.
If you are a big group, make sure to reserve the long table facing the window for the best morning light.
