Summer Palace at Edsa Shangri-La Manila is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Manila in the post Covid-world where you can have your next lauriat dining celebration safely with the kids and the whole family.
We were able to bring the kids because we were on a staycation with the family and passing the anti-gen test was a requirement for the little ones.

Summer Palace is one of Manila’s favorite Cantonese restaurants, with a high level of safety protocols, especially for family lauriat celebrations.

During the General Community Quarantine, the operating hours are from 11am to 9pm and the limit is 70 pax capacity. Best to reserve.
The round tables are socially distanced. We recommend getting the seats in the corner near the windows for a better view and a private corner all your own.
If you are going with the kids, it is best to reserve one of their their private dining rooms—Phoenix (10 pax), Dragon (6 pax), Peony 1 (6 pax) and Peony 2 & 3 (30 pax).
Summer Palace Dining Experience
Start with a hot cup of tea to stimulate your appetite and to start the meal with a safety ritual.
Even the kropek was done well, not too oily, crispy and comes with vinegar for dipping.
Instead of a communal family serving, the food was portioned separately.
The dimsums were the best, using only the best shrimp, with not too thick wrapper and served with crispy rolls. Each piece was satisfying and I loved it with the chili.
Clean tasting broth with good quality scallop and slices of asparagus.
Sioti was happy because he got his own share and didn’t have to fight the boys for it.
Steak done well in black pepper spice. Paired well with the Yang Chow.
Loved the mango dessert to clean the palate and to end the Chinese meal.
Final Thoughts
Highly recommended for your next Chinese family celebration in a safe environment with delicious food and the best service. 🙂 Make sure to reserve the private dining room in advance, go during off-peak hours and pre-order your food so that they can prepare it in advance.
