All the costs are peg in dollars and it is a shame that there are no local prices for local tourist 🙁 Here is a run down on the costs which could total $45/ person for the overall experience (P2,475) for a day trip event. I was not able to go for trekking since I’m with my son, I might look at the local tourist office to get a tour guide and rent a 4×4 to get to the crater rather than pay $20 / person. … I got lost a number of times going to this place, because there are no signs along the road and the person in the spa was not very helpful.
Now I know what is the fuss about and what’s really novel about the sulfur sand shower experience: For $10 or P550, you get yourself buried under a hot sulfuric sand for 30-45 minutes. … To get the best experience, you need to strip down to your birthday suit so that you can feel the heat of the sand on your skin. … You will perspire so much that it is like sauna under the sand and somebody occasionally wipes the perspiration off your face The messy part is after you get out, you need to rest and take a shower to remove the sand.
As expected I did not, and It was very painful 🙁 After this test, there is a makeshift steam bath using a cofta chair and a cover enough to cover your entire body when sitted and it has a hole so that only your head would stick out.

…Mandarin Spa is also mentioned that is in my next list to visit but what surprises me is the mention of Sanctuario in Malate. … What makes me interested in this spa, is the famous Roberto Nacario who is a true manghihilot who uses a coconut oil made by him during good friday and a menthol oil that is really icy soothing.
