HealthCheQ: Are You a Walking Time Bomb?

Recently we heard of sudden-death stories from friends, and you can’t help but reflect if there ever was a way that it could have been prevented. If not, are you then (with apologies to airport security) a Walking Time Bomb?  As we remembered and prayed for our departed loved ones during All Saints’ Day, we … Continue reading HealthCheQ: Are You a Walking Time Bomb?

Wensha Spa in Manila: My running days will never be the same again…

By

The prices are quite reasonable and I love the P800 body and foot combination for one hour where two therapist would massage you at the same time…. The buffet meal that comes free with the massage services includes two dishes, rice, and unlimited soup and drinks.

Bing Chua’s 4 Hours Massage Therapy

By

As for me, we hang around MOA and was able to be home at 3am+ — and I felt kinda sick after that. I’m tired of all the medicines that I took when I was sick last Christmas season so I called Bing Chua and enjoyed an almost 5 hours massage therapy at home. … If you plan to get a 4 hours massage, it is best that you have it at the comforts of your home and just rest.

Fun Hydrotheraphy @ Ace Water Spa :)

By

They were on a buy 1 take 1 until Dec. 31, so we took the chance for only P240, entrance fee, you get to enjoy 25 massage systems, 9 heated pools, and 1 cold pool (really too cold).
…You need to be in swimwear– swimsuit for the girls and trunks or tights for the boys. (they are strict on this) They would give you a red shower cap to use while inside the water spa. … Here’s the routine, you need to submerge your entire body for 3-5 minutes in a 36 degree green herbal pool, then submerge yourself for 3 minutes in the cold pool (which we can’t really stand).

The Neo Spa Experience

By

Finally, we were able to try out Neo Spa in their original place in Greenhills — Thanks to Jay and Portia 🙂 This is our first time in Neo Spa, and we tried out the Zen Bodywork — Neo Spa’s signature massage. … If you have a 10 month old son, you know how hard it is to schedule a spa massage together because this would be the last thing on your mind.

The Mt. Pinatubo Spa Experience

By

All the costs are peg in dollars and it is a shame that there are no local prices for local tourist 🙁 Here is a run down on the costs which could total $45/ person for the overall experience (P2,475) for a day trip event. I was not able to go for trekking since I’m with my son, I might look at the local tourist office to get a tour guide and rent a 4×4 to get to the crater rather than pay $20 / person. … I got lost a number of times going to this place, because there are no signs along the road and the person in the spa was not very helpful.

What’s the fuss about the Sulfur Sand Shower?!

By

Now I know what is the fuss about and what’s really novel about the sulfur sand shower experience: For $10 or P550, you get yourself buried under a hot sulfuric sand for 30-45 minutes. … To get the best experience, you need to strip down to your birthday suit so that you can feel the heat of the sand on your skin. … You will perspire so much that it is like sauna under the sand and somebody occasionally wipes the perspiration off your face The messy part is after you get out, you need to rest and take a shower to remove the sand.

The Best Therapeutic Massage in Town! P500 ($10) for 4 hours of Reflexology Massage!

By

As expected I did not, and It was very painful 🙁 After this test, there is a makeshift steam bath using a cofta chair and a cover enough to cover your entire body when sitted and it has a hole so that only your head would stick out.
…( I’ve been to a lot of the popular ones cause I’m an addict when it comes to this things) Also, he would make you lie on your sides and do reflexology on the side muscles and take the opportunity to do further stretches as well.
…Last thing, your body will be bug-bog (battered) after this, so no sports activity in the next five days 🙁 Probably next time, I’ll just try the home service as long as I can provide Bing the right bed for him to perform his therapeutic massage.

Sanctuario — The best filipino inspired Day Spa @ the heart of Malate

By

It’s been a while since I’ve blog about stuff in our awesome manila because we have alot of offsite meetings in the office (which I don’t usually blog about them).
…Mandarin Spa is also mentioned that is in my next list to visit but what surprises me is the mention of Sanctuario in Malate. … What makes me interested in this spa, is the famous Roberto Nacario who is a true manghihilot who uses a coconut oil made by him during good friday and a menthol oil that is really icy soothing.
