22 Prime: Father’s Day is for Steaks!

Happy Father’s Day to all you awesome fathers who work very hard to provide for your families and strive to raise your kids the best way you can!

Let it not be just a one-day affair on the official 3rd Sunday of June or June 17, 2018. Together, let’s claim June as a month-long celebration of Fatherhood.

Lunch Menu: Soup, Starters, Sandwiches, Out of the Pan | For the Table, From the Grill

We loved the personalized menu that greeted us on our table and the kids felt special seeing their names written on it.

Mushroom Cappucino (₱290). Grilled brioche, truffle oil, and chives

This is one of the best mushroom soups we’ve tasted.

It’s so creamy and you can taste the flavor of the mushroom. The froth topping  reminds one of sipping a cappuccino.

Dad’s Burger (₱985+). USDA beef patty stuffed with foie gras and cheese on toasted brioche. Served with miso mayo and potato wedges. 

Sometimes, you just want to have a really good burger. The 22 Prime version is stuffed with foie gras and lots of cheese in the middle.

Once you’ve tasted their sweet potato fries, you’ll fall in love with it that you’ll forget about normal fries.

Wagyu Hotdog (₱1,055+). 12-inch wagyu sausage with sauerkraut, bell pepper relish, and aged cheddar cheese

This was so good: 12-inch hotdog made from premium wagyu meat.

The boys loved this so much that we had to order a second hotdog and make sure it was divided into equal portions.

Cajun Chicken (₱410+). Cajun spiced grilled boneless chicken served with cheesy mashed potato, mango salsa and fried cauliflower.

If you want to have a different kind of chicken, this Cajun-spiced one paired with charred cauliflower is always a safe bet among kids and adults alike.

Pork BBQ Spare Ribs (₱585+). Hickory smoked pork spare ribs served with dirty rice pilaf, poached broccoli, and corn on the cob.

It was visually appealing but our ribs were a bit tough.

Steak Duo (₱1,210+). Wagyu hanger with mushroom gratin and Angus NY striploin with truffle bearnaise, poached egg, and semi-dried cherry tomato. Served with parsley potato and petite greens.

What’s a Father’s Day celebration without steaks!

We all love the Wagyu hanger with a creamy mushroom gratin on top vs the Angus NY striploin. The latter was a bit lean for me and it was topped with an egg, which I did not like.

I would suggest that you order just the 200g Wagyu Hanger Steak  and you just pay a bit more at ₱1,300+.

Pinotage Shiraz Rib Shack (₱400+). Western Cape, South Africa

Drinks Menu: Sparkling Wines, White Wines, Red Wines | Beverage List

The steak is nicely paired with the Rib Shack Shiraz from South Africa.

Chocolate Marquise (₱375). Their signature dessert, soft chocolate mousse with vanilla English cream, and pistachio bits. 

End with the famed chocolate cake that people have been raving about ever since 22 Prime opened years ago.

Affogato Express (₱290+).

I’m addicted to Affogato these days and on a search for the best one in the metro.
