Voyage of the Balangay in Boracay, and now in Guimaras…

After being stranded in Boracay because of typhoon Pepeng, the crew maximized their time by fixing the hull of Diwata ng Lahi because of some wood worms called “Tamilok”. At the same time, the crew seized the moment and explored the island paradise of Boracay as tourists. (See: Stranded in Boracay September 30 – October 4 by Art Valdez)

Usually, when they dock, they would help out people in need in terms of medical assistance. They would also provide disaster-preparation training for the local community.

The Balangay is now anchored at Guimaras en route to Bacolod. You can follow their adventures in the official Balangay Blogsite
