Thank you to all our media and blogging friends for joining the kick-off of our food tour at Tuscany, Mckinley Hill! Special thanks to my Mercato Centrale partner, RJ for hosting the event. 🙂
The food tour is a 20-course degustation, going to 8 restaurants in 3 hours, for P1,000.
Here is a photo-essay of what we’ve dubbed An Awesome Secret Foodies Tour…
PLANET GRAPES
Planet Grapes (from the owners of Wine Story) aims to educate foodies with intro-level wines.
Each person gets a sample of their choice of white and red wine to kick-off the tour.

L.E.S. BAGELS
Next stop is L.E.S (Lower East Side) Bagels, a quaint shop serving NY-style, freshly baked bagels. It’s by Chef Cuit Kaufman of Borough and Nolita fame.Â
L.E.S. is one of the best sources of bagels with that chewy texture, and a wide assortment of cream cheeses that go well with them.

TRATTORIA POGGIO ANTICO
For appetizers, the tour moves to the home-grown Italian Trattoria by Roland Lorilla.
These are all good appetizers, but my favorites are the Prosciutto con Melone and Oyster on Liver Pate. 🙂
 Â
B&T MEXICAN CHICKENÂ
B&T Mexican’s Tuscany branch may be cozier, but they still offer the same yummy Mexican food.
Since nights are sure to be cooler this December, it would be good to hang out al fresco style and enjoy the food with your favorite drink. 🙂Â
Â
SAUCERIAÂ
Sauceria opened its 2nd branch at Tuscany, offering food created by a gastronomist. They use science to study the combination of flavors and ingredients to create yummy dishes.
Love this dish: Tuna Tataki Zaru Soba with Homemade Wasabi Sour Cream Dip.
Â
MARCIANO’S
For the main course, Dow Jones Steak is served for sharing at Marciano’s Italian restaurant.
Resto hopping is more fun if you’re in the company of foodie friends.
Â
MAIN STREET
Second-to-the-last stop is the Canadian resto called Main Street, serving their signature Poutine…
…and a quarter portion of their new Wagyu Burger.Â
Â
SOPHIE’S MOM
I love meeting the owners and hearing the stories of their restaurant directly from them.Â

The tour ends with cupcakes, cookies, and other dessert treats from Sophie’s Mom’s flagship store.
