About UTT 2015: Most Remarkable Ultimate Taste Test Ever @AyalaMalls! (Photo Essay)
Rita’s Italian Ice is one of the largest Italian Ice concepts in the world with more than 600 stores in the US.
Rita’s originally advertised their product as “water ice” which is also sometimes called “Italian Ice”. Founded in 1984 by former Philadelphia firefighter Bob Tumolo. He bought the recipe from an elderly neighbor, did some enhances and made the recipe his own and the rest is history.
I personally like the Italian ice concept which is like creamy ice texture, very smooth and made fresh daily in the store.

The Story of Italian Ice

Our Italian Ice is nothing like the ubiquitous shaved ice or snow cones around. The same process used to make ice cream is applied to the Italian Ice-making technique, and the result is a smooth, fluffy, shard-free ice dessert that dissolves into a syrup-like consistency—it’s pretty delicious.
We have a wide selection of Italian Ice to choose from—mostly tangy, fruity flavors such as mango, blue raspberry, and wild cherry. But a standout among the fruity flavors is our Alex Lemonade because it’s the perfect balance of sour & tart. It’s like your cold glass of lemonade on a hot day but made better because of it’s smooth and refreshing consistency.

Foodies appreciate the mango flavor specially the kids. It was quite sweet and you can taste real mango flavors.
The watermelon ice is my favorite because it is a refreshing sweet treat.
For those who love sour flavors, you’ll love the Lemon Italian Ice. Very tangy, refreshing and cleans the palate.
