Paper Moon Cafe of Tokyo is a specialty cake place by Madame Emy Wada of NYC and HK’s Lady M fame. They are known for their signature original Mille Crepe popularly known as “crepe cake” that foodies have been raving about.
Story of Paper Moon’s EMY WADA:
Madame Emy began her career in the 1970’s as a cake supplier to 7 out of the best 10 cafes in Tokyo. In 2001, she expanded her operations to New York City where she supplied her cakes to Dean & Deluca, Takashimaya, and Neiman Marcus. She even founded and opened the acclaimed Lady M Cake Boutique in the Upper East Side, which she had to give up several glorious years later to focus instead on the Tokyo operations of her business. Lady M recently opened it’s first branch in Hong Kong. Together with Vic del Rosario of Viva International Food & Restaurants Inc (a subsidiary of Viva Group of Companies), Madam Emy Wada was finally convinced to open up in Manila, so we can taste her famous lovely Mille Crepe without leaving the country.

Lady M Hong Kong
You have to line up in Hongkong to just get a taste of Lady M’s Mille Crepe.
Emy Wada was the original founder of Lady M Cake Boutique in New York.
Lady M sells the original, green tea, and earl grey (HK exclusive) flavors for HK$75 ~ P459. (see menu)
Paper Moon Manila
In Manila, Paper Moon’s flagship cafe is located at the ground floor of Glorietta 3 (near the Activity Center) in Makati.
Paper Moon Cafe Menu: Cakes Menu, Drinks Menu
They specialized on Mille Crepe cake, but they also serve sandwiches, salads, and quiche.
Original Mille Crepe: Large (P2,000/ 10″), Medium(P1,400/ 6″), slice (P225).
Paper Moon’s Mille Crepe has layers 20 handmade, paper-thin crepes stacked together with cream and finished with a caramelized crust.
We adore the fluffy lightness and delicate sweetness of the Mille Crepe. Each scrumptious bite promises a well-proportioned combination of the delightful crepe and fresh cream.
Chocolate Mille Crepe: Large (P2,000/ 10″), Mini (P350/ 3″), slice (P225).
They also have a chocolate variant, where layers of chocolate substitute the fresh cream.
Strawberry Mille Crepe: Mini (P350/3″).
We love the Strawberry Mille Crepe with added sweet-tart flavor from the strawberries.This variant only comes in a mini size.
Mango Mille Crepe: Large (P2,000/10″), Mini (P350/3″), slice (P225).
Paper Moon boasts its use of our sweet, local mangoes giving it a local flavor that Pinoys love.
Overall, the Paper Moon’s Mille Crepes are as good as the ones in Hong Kong, relatively cheaper and has unique flavors for the Manila market. Best to stick with the original flavor and we love the fruit based flavors – strawberry and mango.
Although they are priced a little higher than other local creperies because their ingredients are imported to match the standards of Madame Emy. Budget P500/person.
The other food items are just OK and provide good savory options for dine-in customers.
