Since Valentine’s Day was on a Sunday, it was the perfect time for a staycation with the family at Makati Diamond Hotel.
It’s mainly a business hotel, but it’s also ideal for families because of its high-ceiling design in the common areas, signature Alfred restaurant, and strategic location in the heart of Makati (just beside Greenbelt)!
Here’s a photo essay of our Valentine’s staycation at Makati Diamond Residences…

ACCOMMODATIONS
We stayed in a 96 sqm two-bedroom suite.
The master’s bedroom is quite spacious with an extra sofa bed.
The restroom is pristine and clean with a luxurious shower area.
The toilet amenities include Systema toothbrush and toothpaste, which we love and personally use at home.
We love the living room and dining areas, which make you feel right at home. You can even cook if you prefer! Check out the Cooking Instructions.
Oishi snacks in the room–support local!
The second bedroom is smaller but has a nice view of the Makati Skyline. We love the comfy bed and fluffy pillows! 🙂
Bathrobes, slippers, safety deposit box, and iron & ironing board are all provided.
The second restroom is smaller but still fully functional.
We brought the PS4 and connected it to the big TV to play Just Dance, NBA Basketball, and FIFA Soccer games with the boys.
BREAKFAST
You can opt to have a private breakfast in the 27th floor club lounge with this view of the Makati Skyline.
I actually prefer having breakfast at Alfred’s on the ground floor because of the more extensive selection, like more fruits and vegetable options.
The boys like the granola or cereal with fresh milk. 🙂
The Egg Station offers soft-boiled sous vide eggs. 🙂
We like the chocolate croissants and the fig or pineapple jams.
We usually start with a big plate of fruits and salad and coffee to kick off our breakfast.
Arrozcaldo is served with generous topping options, including chicharon and tokwa’t baboy.
They have their signature Lamb Sausage ring, which is very good but just a bit spicy for the boys.
I like the Hainanese Chicken with the sauce.
HOLIDAY CHAMPAGNE BRUNCH
We tried Alfred’s Holiday Champagne Brunch (P2,000/head, 11.30-2.30pm, Saturdays & Sundays).
Start off with the freshly made caesar salad with all the right toppings.
If you can stand the smell, the raclette is very good, especially when hot.
Drink-all-you-can champagne for lunch!
They serve two types of champagne–Jean Vesselle and Delamotte. Check out the other available cocktails and wines on their Beverage List.
You can make your own mimosa by ordering orange juice and mixing some champagne with the juice.
The main spread features the different meats and seafood, which include…
Lechon…
Paella…
Grilled Prawns…
For dessert, Foie Gras macarons…
Homemade Cheesecake Ice Cream with Chocolate crumble toppings, or…
Their Signature Le Royale cake, which is only available at the store and not part of the buffet.
ACTIVITIES
The hotel has a nice, well-equipped gym and…
…exercise studio.
We love the indoor pool that is 4 feet deep all throughout–ideal for doing laps or swimming with the kids.
Our boys were able to participate in the Japan Football Cup in BGC.
We love to hear anticipated mass at Don Bosco Makati with a beautiful homily and priest available for confession.
CLUB LOUNGE HORS D’OEUVRES
At 5pm, we would hang out in the Club Lounge for merienda and drinks…
…while enjoying the view of the sunset reflecting on the buildings.
IN-ROOM DINING
Since Valentine’s dinner is quite hectic, we decided to enjoy it in the room with my Valentine dates. Check out the Alfred In-Room Dining Menu.
Portobello mushroom salad on Parmigiano basket (P390 ++)
Baked Lapu-Lapu fillet, scallops with seasonal vegetables and marble potatoes (P950 ++)
Miso-rubbed US Angus sirloin with seasonal vegetables and french fries (P1,400++)
Although the hotel is meant for business travelers, we still love the well-designed rooms with living room and kitchen areas ideal for family staycations. The location is also the best because it’s beside our A-Space co-working office and directly in front of Greenbelt 1. The service is helpful, friendly, and direct to the point, which are all very important for a hassle-free stay.
We love breakfast the most because of the great selection of fruits, vegetables, bread, cheeses, and eggs. The main breakfast items are international with their signature lamb sausage ring. You can always go for the 27th club lounge for the Makati skyline view in the morning, but we prefer dining at the Alfred restaurant.
The Champagne Brunch was also cool and we love the raclette and champagne concept. Best to go at the start of the buffet because the meats become dry when overexposed and the fish meat gets overcooked with the heating light. Don’t forget to end your brunch with their cheesecake ice cream topped with chocolate crumble.
Finally, we love the covered swimming pool that is not too deep (4 feet only) and spacious for water fights and wrestling with the boys.

P.S. We were not able to enjoy the massage since we couldn’t leave the boys on their own. But check out their Wellness Center Menu for future reference.
P.P.S. As a bonus, our boys, who play for Ceres-La Salle FC, are the Under 9-years old (U9) Football champions in the Japan Football Cup! 🙂
