The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale is the biggest shopping sale season in Bangkok that happens from June 15 to August 15, 2016. The campaign is the brainchild of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, which started in 1999 in partnership with VISA International. It’s scheduled ahead of the Singapore and Hong Kong sales.
Here’s why you should consider flying to Bangkok for this…
Bangkok is the place to be for both high-end and bargain shopping. We love Bangkok because of its vibrant food scene and amazing Thai street food.
Now is the best time to go while you can get 20% to 50% discount on quality selections. Towards the end of the sale season, you can get 70% and even as much as 80% discount.
All the malls are concentrated at the center of Bangkok and you can easily travel via the BTS Train System.
There are 14 participating Bangkok malls located in these BTS stations:
• National Stadium: MBK Center
• Siam Station: Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery
• Chitlom Station: Gaysorn, Central World, Zen
• Ploen Chit Station: Amarin Plaza, Central Chitlom, Central Embassy
• Asoke station: Terminal 21, Robinson
• Phrom Phong station: Emporium, Emquartier
We love the design of the malls, which makes shopping fun and exciting. I like the hip experimental vibe of the Siam Discovery Center.
We also like the clean minimalist look, the lighting, and the innovative design of Central Embassy.
Check out unique Thai Fashion companies like SRETIS founded by Pim Sukhahuta with her sisters, Kly and Matina, hence the name SISTERS spelled backward.
Make sure to visit the OTOP Heritage shop for some unique and quality Thai products from the different towns in Thailand.
The malls are open from 10am to 10pm. Aside from the discount, you can get vouchers and an additional 6% tax refund for tourists with the minimum purchase amount.
If you’re looking for a great bargain, visit the MBK Center and the Platinum Fashion Mall.
Don’t forget to get the Tourist Privilege Card from the information center like in Terminal 21 mall to get additional discounts, perks, and free WiFi.
You can start with a shopping budget of 10,000 Thai Baht, which is equivalent to about 13,000 Philippine Pesos.
Stay for at least 4 days in Bangkok and check out the night market and street food scene the capital is famous for.
