6. Impressions at Resort’s World Manila
Resorts World Manila (RWM) has everything you need to sweep her off her feet with elegantly indulgent and romantic Valentine offerings at RWM signature restaurants Impressions and the Terrace at Maxims Hotel.
Paris may be the City of Love, but if a flight to France for dinner seems a bit over-the-top, you can still give her a taste of French fine dining with a Romantic Rendezvous at Impressions. Executive Chef Cyrille Soenen – who holds the distinction of being the only resident Maitres de Cuisiniers de France (that’s Master Chef of France) in the Philippines – has designed a four-course dinner menu featuring the best of French cuisine, artfully plated and perfectly prepared to light up the senses.
The Romantic Rendezvous prix fixe menu starts off light and frothy with an amuse bouche of mousse of scallops and celery crumble served with orange-scented tuile and chive oil. The appetizer of poached and seared duck liver with arugula, smoked beet puree, parmesan tuile, and red onion marmalade will excite the palate, followed by a comforting bowl of creamy broth of mussels and leeks, with a healthy side of edamame and Akegai clam meuniere and micro salad.
For the entrée, you and your date will have a choice of slow-roasted Angus prime rib, roasted Chilean sea bass, or minute-marinated French duck breast – each served with sidings that best complement the central dish.
The decadent dinner gets a sweet finish with a dessert that delivers an exhilarating symphony of sweet, bitter, and tart flavors through the mixed berry chiboust, a quenelle of citrus-scented dark chocolate ganache, a sponge and coulis duo of strawberry, 70% Guanaja Valrhona gelato, chocolate soil, and meringue.
There are few things more romantic than a candlelit dinner under the stars, and The Terrace at the ultra-luxury hotel Maxims takes it up a notch with a gourmet set dinner, a sommelier’s selection of wine pairings, a live acoustic band, floral arrangements, and languorous lighting by the poolside for an unforgettable date.
Diners at the Terrace can choose between a table for two by the poolside where the waters reflect the twinkling stars, or for the privacy of the cabanas for a truly decadent and romantic evening.
