AZUMI BOUTIQUE HOTEL is a modern 186-room boutique hotel with an infinity pool that overlooks the Alabang skyline. Azumi means “Safe Residence” in Japanese.
We celebrated Father’s Day with the boys here. We love their garden room accommodations, Romulo Cafe’s heritage Filipino food, and the infinity pool vibe with a 360-degree view of Alabang.
Here are our learnings from our experience to help you plan your own awesome Azumi staycation…

You’ll feel right at home with Azumi’s garden greens, earth tones, and pop of orange ambiance with a dash of southern charm.
Here are three (3) things that make an Azumi staycation awesome:
#1 GARDEN ACCOMMODATION
We stayed in Garden Room 515 (47sqm) with a queen bed, a day bed convertible to a single bed, and…
…a spacious garden-themed balcony. (The garden rooms are only available on the 5th floor.)
The bathroom has glass walls and is surrounded with mirrors for a more spacious feel.
Our four boys stayed in an adjacent corner Garden Room (#517), which is the only room equipped with two queen beds (but there’s no interconnection between rooms).
The toilet and bath is clean and has the same configuration.
They provide the usual amenities–soap, shampoo, shower gel, dental kit, and towel.
ROOM MENU: Mini-Bar Prices | Romulo Cafe Menu | Room Service Menu
One cool thing here is that the mini-bar snacks are priced affordably, ranging from just P10 to P40.
Chorizo Longganisa (P180++) served with rice and sunny side up egg
Lechon Kawali (P180++) served with rice
Pork Belly Humba (P180++) served with rice
Beef Caldereta with Queso de Bola (P260++) served with rice
Penne Carbonara (P260)
Their room service menu is quite good and tasty, coming from their in-house Romulo Cafe.
Make sure to know where the EXIT is when you stay in a hotel. Good thing our room 517 is just beside it.
The best room is Corner Garden Room #501 that has a spacious configuration because of two balconies and a nice view facing the Molito area.
On the 5th floor, there is a Garden Room that was converted into a Function Room (#509) with a balcony and its own restroom. Here you can hold small team meetings or group sessions.
#2 ROMULO CAFE
Romulo Cafe Menu: Our Story | Appetizers, Soup | Salad, Pasta & Noodles | Chicken & Pork | Beef & Vegetables | Seafood & Rice | Dessert
ROMULO CAFE is a Filipino Restaurant that is a tribute to Foreign Secretary Carlos P. Romulo and his wife Virginia’s heirloom recipes.
The flagship restaurant is located in Scout Tuazon corner Scout Lazcano in QC, the second branch in Jupiter corner Comet Street in Bel-Air, Makati, and the only Filipino restaurant in Kensington, High Street London.
We always look forward to Filipino breakfast buffet in the morning–decent, well-curated, and with a nice garden setting ambiance.
This is our favorite table located in the corner against a backdrop of historical photographs.
Baby Pusit in Garlic (P295). Baby squid sauteed in olive oil and garlic.
Our favorite Filipino appetizer is a dish made of baby squid cooked in olive oil and garlic, topped with garlic bits.
Sinigang na Salmon sa Miso (P350). Salmon belly cooked in tamarind broth with fermented soy bean paste served mustard greens.
The sinigang was on point with its sourness and tasty bits of salmon belly.
Beef Kaldereta with Keso de Bola (P360). Chunks of stewing beef sauteed in olive oil and garlic, onions, carrots, potatoes, then slow cooked in tomato sauce and sprinkled with keso de bola.
The kaldereta was decent and tasted like it was cooked a while back…just re-heated and then served again.
Crispy Tadyang (P480). Twice-cooked beef ribs served with a special dipping sauce.
Tasty bone-in ribs with crispy fried outside and soft, juicy inside with an extra serving of sauce made from its jus.
Tito Greg’s Kare-Kare (P490). Oxtail and tripe stew in a peanut-based sauce served with steamed vegetables and our house bagoong.
The Kare-Kare tasted commercialized; you can’t taste the peanuts and the bagoong didn’t match well.
Lola Virginia’ Chicken Relleno (Half Chicken – P650). Roasted chicken stuffed with ground pork, raisins, chorizo, and peas.
Our favorite! It resembles a meatloaf made from sliced stuffed chicken served with a secret sauce.
Make it a point to eat one lunch here at Romulo Cafe, one of the better Filipino restaurants in the Alabang area.
Best to lower your expectations because it has a fast casual ambiance with fast food type tables that can be easily moved if needed. There’s just annoying flies all around.
Give instructions to serve the appetizers and soup first so that you can enjoy these while hot, and then the main dishes afterwards, one by one. I hate it when restaurants make you wait for a while because they serve all your orders all at the same time. You don’t get to enjoy it plus they serve it fast food style.
Order the Baby Pusit in Garlic, Sinigang na Salmon sa Miso, and Lola Virginia’ Chicken Relleno. Budget about P600/head.

#3 INFINITY POOL
Our kids loved the salt water infinity pool once they got over the salty taste of the water and when it was no longer too crowded.
The roofdeck has an events place with a balcony that is surrounded by the skyline views of Alabang. It’s perfect for celebrating special occasions.
The pool is located on the sunrise side so its not too hot in the afternoon.
Only thing is there’s no direct view of the sunset (located on the opposite side of the building).
FLASK BAR Menu: Beer, Cocktails, Fresh Fruit Juices | Bar Menu
You can spend happy hour in the Flask bar or near the pool. Check the schedule of band performances on weekdays.
Nail Spa Menu: Signature Treatments
At night, pamper yourself with a 30-minute hand and foot massage in the nail spa.
Aromatherapy Massage (P650). 1-hour full body massage with an uplifting peppermint scent to relax the mind, energize the body, and invigorate the senses.
Best of all, you can schedule and get to enjoy a relaxing body massage to lull you to sleep. Last call is at 10:00pm.
FINAL THOUGHTS
We loved our Azumi Boutique Hotel staycation experience even during a peak weekend season like Father’s Day.
Make sure to book corner garden room 501 if you are going with your special someone or the adjacent garden rooms 515/517 if you are going with the family and your kids. Staying at the fifth floor is perfect because you can just go one level down and have access to the parking. The hotel elevator is quite slow so it can get congested, especially on weekends.
Enjoy the infinity pool in the morning where you get to enjoy the Vitamin D from the sun. Plus there are fewer people compared to the sunset sessions. Take note that the infinity pool is filled with salt water so it’s not enjoyable when you get to taste it. People don’t use proper swimming attire and don’t take a shower beforehand because it is not enforced.
Book your massage in advance at the Nail Spa when you check-in and reserve a table for lunch/dinner at Romulo Cafe.
This is one of the best places to enjoy a Boutique Hotel Staycation with a southern charm in Alabang.
