BackpackingHotelBacolod

Bacolod City has always been one of the most visited destinations in Negros Island, and with the Maskarra festival fast approaching, it can be hard to book a room.

While there are many choices of hostels and backpacker hotels within Bacolod, some of them are either too far away from the city or are a little hard to find.

Worry not! In this article, you will find the two latest and most accessible backpacker hotels in the City of Smiles.

White 23

Welcome to White Hotel, a museum-like hotel for backpackers who want to experience the ‘Old Bacolod.’

Situated along Burgos Avenue, formerly known as “Millionaires Row” (a street where most of the old wealthy families of Bacolod live), it’s a perfect place to stay if you want to relive being a Negrense in the olden days.

Built in the 1950’s, the White Hotel is still one of the biggest and oldest heritage houses with an all original facade.

In fact, this family-owned ancestral house used to be a museum called the Dizon Ramos Museum before its conversion into a heritage hotel just this 2017.

And much like any other modern hotel, the White House is well-equipped with fast internet, common areas, lounges, 24/7 security, and friendly staff.

White 5

Despite the renovations, the White Hotel still showcases some of its old paintings and original furniture, which add to the rustic and 50’s homey feel.

White 8

The 2-storey hotel offers various types of rooms depending on budget and number of guests. Most of the newer rooms are located on the ground floor while all the older themed rooms are located upstairs with wooden floors.

White 7

Toilets are very modern and clean, and all rooms are air-conditioned. The rates are affordable too! Price starts at P1,750 for the Double Room.

White 3

At night the place looks like a stunning artwork, giving off a unique antique vibe. It certainly doesn’t look like your typical hotel when viewed from the outside.

White 4

There is also an extended “Annex” building just beside the hotel that can house big groups of people that don’t mind sharing a single room.

HOMETOWN HOTEL

Home 3

Also located in the heart of Bacolod City on Lacson Street is the Hometown Hotel. This modern-looking property is by far one of the best locations for backpackers and is usually preferred by young travelers because of its budget-friendly prices and accessibility to key commercial areas of the city.

Home 8

Not to mention the funky and fun-looking nooks and crannies that are Instagram-friendly. Backpacking millennials would surely love it here!

Home 4

The hotel welcomes you with a straightforward yet modern design. The common room upstairs even has its own kitchen for everyone to use.

Home 5

Artwork and murals are located all over the place.

Home 6

The newly renovated hotel was once a night bar (formerly Dugout Bar) where locals loved to hang out because of its excellent location. Now the Hometown Hotel is the ideal location for people who want to chill at night and explore.

Home 7

The rooms are also very affordable and modern-looking. Most rooms are spacious enough to accommodate 2-3 persons and have all the essential amenities. Price starts at P999 for the Standard Room.

Home 1

There is also a sharing bunked room that could fit a group of friends. Maximum of 8pax and minimum of 5pax, P350 per head with air-conditioning.

Home 2

Overall, both hotels offer different types of experiences, so it will come down to whether you prefer an older or more modern vibe. What’s sure is both have some of the best-rated locations in Bacolod City where guests can feel safe and comfortable during their stay.

Both also offer unbeatable locations and competitive prices that make them stand out from the competition in the area. I just wish that both hotels had more room options and visible signs outside.

In the end, these hotels are designed to cater to not only backpackers but also to travelers who wish to have a pleasant and convenient stay in Bacolod.
