SUNNY SIDE CAFÉ BORACAY: Best All-Day Breakfast on the Island?!

Sunny Side Café is located along the white beach of Station 3 Boracay. Famous for their all-day breakfast menu, they specialize in comfort food and contemporary breakfast dishes that are never boring!

We love their concept of twisting classic breakfast favorites such as their Ube & Cereal Milk Pancakes, Bacon and Mango Grilled Cheese, and Sunny Side Café Champorado (made with Malagos Chocolate and topped with caramel ice cream, mango, and candied bacon).

They are the only restaurant on the island serving specialty coffee. The dishes are all made from scratch–from their bacon, chorizo, and soups, to their bread and pastries that are freshly-baked in-house, every day!

Here’s what to expect at Sunny Side Café…

Sunny Side Cafe

The name comes from the popular preparation for eggs (sunny side up)–they are an all-day breakfast restaurant after all.

You’ll find Sunny Side Café at the Ground Floor of the Sands Hotel along Station 3. The crowd is a mix of locals and foreigners.

Sunny Side Cafe

The interiors are all mostly yellows and whites, with comfortable Eames chairs that are great for lounging. A lot of natural light comes in, so there’s a bright, cheery, and relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant.

There are also tables outside with a wonderful view of the beachfront!

Espresso Caramel Pancakes (P310)

Sunny Side’s pancakes are huge and are the fluffiest in the whole island!

Soft bittersweet goodness with an extra jolt of flavor from the freshly brewed coffee mixed into the batter. I love the subtle aroma of coffee and the thick generous spread of dulce de leche. The Chantilly cream makes it super indulgent.

Perfect for those who need some energizing after those late night parties.

Note: Also try the Malagos Chocolate Pancakes, the Bacon & Cheese Pancakes, and the newest edition, Ube & Cereal Milk Pancakes.

Sunny Side Cafe

Nutella and Mango Wonut (P245)

Deep-fried Belgian waffles that are crisp on the outside and cakey and fluffy on the inside. It’s a waffle-doughnut hybrid!

Sunny Side Cafe

Shakshuka (P190)

This savory egg sensation is a Middle Eastern dish that I recently discovered. The wonderfully exotic-sounding shakshuka is made with baked eggs with sautéed, spicy tomato sauce, feta cheese, and cilantro.

It’s a vegetarian one-skillet meal that is very healthy–and addicting!

Sunny Side Cafe

Bacon and Mango Grilled Cheese Sandwich (P390)

My favorite comfort food is their Bacon and Mango Grilled Cheese Sandwich that comes with a tangy basil and tomato soup.

I love the combo of sweet and salty flavors. Buttery and sweet thick brioche stacked with homemade mango jam, bacon strips, and extra cheesy goodness.

Sunny Side Cafe

The Sunny Side Champorado (P250)

Bittersweet Pinoy porridge made from Davao’s famed Malagos Chocolate. Topped with slices of mango, candied bacon bits, and caramel ice cream, Sunny Side Café’s take on the champorado is a chocolate lover’s dream come true!

Sunny Side Cafe

Angus Beef Tapsilog (P395). Marinated Angus beef chunks, sunny side eggs, fried rice with garlic confit, and mango salsa.

If you’re craving for rice, we suggest this Angus beef tapsilog or the chorizo and eggs.

Sunny Side Cafe

Limited Cereal Milk Affogato (Limited, P190)

For a yummy wake-up treat, order the espresso poured over cereal milk ice cream.

Sunny Side Café is also the first specialty coffee shop in Boracay with beans freshly-roasted by the EDSA Specialty Beverage Design Company.

Sunny Side Cafe

Overall, we recommend Sunny Side Café for your breakfast fix the next time you find yourself on the island. Their pancakes, shakshuka, and Bacon & Mango grilled cheese were my favorites out of all the dishes we tried.

It still feels like we still missed a lot of great dishes though. So what else would you recommend on the menu?
