AirAsia Now Flies from Manila to Osaka!

At long last, travelers will have more affordable options to fly directly from Manila to Osaka on Air Asia’s new route!

AirAsia, the world’s best low-cost airline for 11 years running, launched its daily flights from Manila to Osaka. The gateway to many of Japan’s largest cities, namely Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe, the Kansai Region is home to many tourist attractions, including the famed Osaka Castle, Dotonbori, Fushimi Inari Shrine, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and Universal Studios Japan!

Osaka will become the airline’s eighth international destination from the Philippines, connecting Filipinos with the wonders of Osaka and the Kansai region in Japan

Osaka is a  city brimming with good times. You’ll find an appetite for adventure, delicious street food and an explosion of culture. Known as the ‘food capital of Japan,’ the streets are filled with sushi, ramen, takoyaki, grilled meat and even exotic dishes like the poisonous fugu for daredevil foodies. There’s no doubt Osaka will leave an impression on first-time travelers.

Osaka also has a reputation as a great city for shopping. Luckily, our hotel Swissotel Nankai Osaka is located at one of the craziest colorful districts in the city. Namba is one of the most popular areas in Osaka, with countless stores from high-end retailers to your favorite Japanese clothing brands Uniqlo and GU at cheaper prices. But the neighborhood is more than just shopping, you’ll find delicious food and fun bars and nightclubs. If you need any late night shopping, why not head to Don Quijote for some late-night pasalubong shopping.

You’ll also find the most famous photo spot in this area, Dotonbori’s Glico Man. You’ll find many people taking photos with this signboard as backdrop.

For a calmer urban experience during your stay in Japan, head to Kyoto, with a centuries-old history as the nation’s former capital.

For our tour with KKday, we headed to the top 5 most popular spots in Kyoto, including the very iconic Fushimi Inari with its striking 10,000 vermilion shrine gates.

Still frequented by merchants and tradesmen who pray for prosperity, you’ll find orange tori gates, each dedicated to a business, and notable sculptures of foxes, reputed to be messengers of the gods.

We stayed at Swissotel Nankai Osaka, a five-star luxury hotel conveniently located at the heart of Namba. Luckily, our hotel is connected to Namba station, offering a direct line from Kansai International Airport with the Rapid Express Train that takes just 30 minutes.

You’ll find treats in your room—from pears, apples, strawberries, mochi, sake and even the pricey Nagano grapes as welcome treats.

The best part about our hotel stay, besides the huge beds that can fit as much as four people, is its ideal location, close to the busiest shopping district of Osaka and perfect for late night shopping and eating with the gang

Flights start at Php 2,990- all in from Manila to Osaka, taking an average of 3 hours, 43 minutes.
