Midori Hotel: Zen Living in a 5-star Luxury Hotel in Clark

Set in a lusciously green landscape in the rising business district of Clark, Pampanga, the Midori Hotel & Casino is one of the newest and biggest 5-star luxury hotel-casinos in the city.

It is located just 5-minutes away from Clark International airport, which caters to both domestic and international flights, and about 1.5 hours from Manila.

The hotel is positioned as the premier hotel in the North and is hailed as the new gateway to Clark.

First Things First

Spacious yet sophisticated, the main lobby at Midori showcases only the world’s finest Dedon furniture.

From the warm interiors to the friendly staff, our first impressions of the Midori is so far more than welcoming.

Exceptionally planned by Taiwan’s renowned interior design company, Shyr-Fong Hu Design Studio.

The interior is where the hotel really shines as the theme is reflected all throughout the hotel.

THE ROOMS

What really impressed me were the extremely spacious (almost 100sqm) zen-inspired rooms.

With their wooden walls, floors and ceiling, the rooms at Midori are really a cut above the rest.

I am really liking this open space layout where the living/office space and bedroom are only separated by a divider.

In the living room, there’s a complimentary coffee and tea making machine beside the conveniently placed 2nd sink.

Also, everything inside the minibar is complimentary! Beat that!

We also had the best view from the balcony, just directly in front of our bed.

But my favorite section is the bathroom with its signature bathtub layout.

Even the bath soap and toiletries by L’Occitane are luxurious.

The best part is that the toilet was automatic like the ones you find in Japan and is separated from the shower and tub.

Overall, I really like how the room is lined with classy designer-inspired furniture that puts you in your zen mode.

AMENITIES

The building itself looks relatively small from the outside but is surprisingly spacious inside.

The hotel is separate from the casino but is linked together by a glass bridge for easy access.

At the hotel wing, you’ll find all the basic hotel amenities like:

A fully equipped gym with all the modern amenities that you’ll ever need.

Cigar Maduro, a top-tier bar that offers a wide range of cigars, champagnes, malt, spirits and scotch whiskey.

We also went for a relaxing 2-hour long “Chan Spa Signature Massage” at their high-end wellness center.

And lastly, located on the ground floor is a pool that is about 35 meters long and there’s a separate kiddie pool and jacuzzi.

On the casino wing of the building, you’ll find the KTVs, mahjong rooms and the casino.

FOOD

For now, there’s only really one full dining restaurant inside the hotel, The Toscana.

Located on the ground floor, the Toscana offers all western and Asian cuisines for lunch a la carte and dinner buffets.

Breakfast is a buffet for all checked-in guests, but come lunchtime, they only serve a la carte dishes. These are what we ordered…

Dumpling Jewels (P650). Chefs combination of 6 types of freshly made dim sum (hakaw, siomai, sharkfin, vegetarian, roast pork bun and kuchai dumpling).

Roasted duck (P1,000). Oven-roasted, glazed with soya sauce and honey.

BBQ Baby back ribs (P980). Slow roasted and tendered baby back ribs in BBQ Sauce and Korean sweet & sour chicken.

Pan-fried ribs (P580).

And our favorite Blueberry Cheesecake.

For dinner, we opted for a special 4-course meal courtesy of the chef, with matching live music in the background.

Here are the chef’s recommendations:

Caesar salad with shrimp and bacon (P430)

Seafood chowder soup (P250)

Pot roast beef (P1,100)

And a chocolate cake (P200) to end the night

Final Thoughts

Overall, we all had a relaxing and luxurious stay at Midori Clark Hotel & Casino.

We originally chose to stay at Midori because of its close proximity to Clark airport from which my parents would be flying out to Singapore the day after. This way, we didn’t have to leave earlier than usual from Manila to brave the traffic and risk being late. We wanted a nice hotel near the airport so we didn’t have to leave so early and Midori was the perfect host.

I just wish that they had free shuttle service for checked-in guests to and from Clark airport. But other than that, our stay at Midori was more than perfect.

The hotel is perfect for small or big families wanting to fly from Clark or simply want to explore Clark in general. And the generously spaced and luxurious rooms are far better than the ones in hotels I’ve been to in Manila.
