Rache and I first tried the iconic Beef Wellington at Bob Bob Ricard in London’s Soho, known for its art deco style and champagne button. Now, Manila’s dining scene is improving, offering world-class food to the next generation of Filipinos. Yugi was excited to visit Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant after seeing the chef and his Beef Wellington on YouTube.

Located on the 2nd floor between Sheraton and Hilton Manila, the restaurant features a modern steakhouse ambiance, a relaxed smart casual vibe, and excellent service.

The best seats are near the open kitchen, offering London-inspired vibes and comfy seating.
APPETIZERS

Classic Caesar Salad 650
36-months aged Parmesan, slow-cooked egg, anchovy, croutons
The salad had the perfect amount of Caesar dressing, complemented by sharp Parmesan, while the anchovies added a salty, sea flavor that balanced the creaminess.

Aged Steak Tartare 1,650
Wagyu beef fillet, egg yolk confit, gherkin, pickled shallots, potato crisps
The aged raw wagyu beef is mixed with egg yolk and pickled shallots for a nice tartare flavor.

The quality of the beef was good, making this tartare devoured in minutes with potato chips.

Crispy Crab Cake & Caviar 880
Poached hen’s egg and Hollandaise
Most people raved about the crab cake, featuring a crispy crust, generous crab meat, egg, hollandaise, and a highlight of caviar—a must try.

The cocktails were surprisingly good, offering zero-proof options, well-made classic drinks, and some interesting choices for the kids to try.
MAINS

The mains are served all together family-style and the portions are big enough to share.

GORDON RAMSAY FISH & CHIPS 1,999
Pink grouper, Koffmann’s thick-cut fries, crushed peas, tartare sauce
The fish and chips were not oily, with a crisp crust, and the lapu-lapu fillet was perfectly cooked—not overdone. I loved it with a bit of tartare sauce, a splash of lemon, paired with crushed peas. They use thick-cut fries, making for a satisfying bite.

Iberico Pork Secreto 350g 1,988
Beef-braised onion
The secreto slices were tender and flavorful, finished with a slice of onion — good to share.

GORDON’S SIGNATURE BEEF WELLINGTON 3,888
Slice of MB7 Wagyu beef fillet, mushroom and truffle duxelles,

The Beef Wellington was presented with great care like a work of art. It featured a thick slice of beef, complemented by creamed tomato and carrots, with the red wine jus poured on the side.

I loved how the beef was cooked rare, with a bright reddish color, coated in mushroom duxelle and a flaky pastry shell. The beef was tender and easy to slice, allowing the rich wagyu flavor to shine through. The kids loved it as well—it definitely met every expectation and all the hype.
DESSERT

Sticky Toffee Pudding 550
Vanilla ice cream, butterscotch sauce
This was the perfect sweet ending to the British meal—delicious toffee flavor served à la mode with butterscotch sauce. It wasn’t too sweet, just perfectly balanced.

Caramelised Apple Tart Tatin to share 780
Vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce
The tart tatin is sliced table-side, topped with vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with caramel.

We could easily return just for this dessert.

Overall, the quality of the food, including the Beef Wellington, lived up to the hype and was consistently served to perfection. We also loved the crispy crab cake & caviar and the fish & chips. The ambiance is relaxed—it’s not fine dining but more of a casual bar and steakhouse vibe. We enjoyed the cocktails and desserts, making for a complete first Gordon Ramsay experience for the kids. Budget around Php3,000 per head, and it’s best to go with family and friends to share.
