Hope in Every Vote, Strength in Every Voice!

The Filipino people have spoken. They are tired of corruption, empty promises from politicians, and even the poor are beginning to learn from past mistakes—particularly from voting for celebrities who, once in office, have done little to nothing for the country. There were attempts to influence public opinion through outdated and unreliable surveys—don’t be misled by biased data. Many political analysts have expressed surprise at the outcome of the national elections, but the truth is, they don’t fully understand what really happened.

Here’s what I think:

The Holy-Spirit Inspired Vote

My mom never wavered in her commitment to vote for the right people. We would often talk about whether our country was hopeless, and she would always say that the Lord would not let our nation go to ruin—that the Holy Spirit is powerful enough to guide the minds and hearts of the faithful.

This was the digital ballot getting forwarded to all the church grass-roots community in Laguna. And every community has a parish and religious organization that has a list like this.

You can check how many won from this list.

Clean Elections – Thank you Comelec!

This election was clean. I remember how chaotic the last one was—at our precinct, there was a lot of last-minute vote bullying by the dominant party, and the voting machine wasn’t even working. I took to social media to voice my frustration, but I later realized that we never really had a fair chance for the voice of the people to be heard.

This year, the precinct was well-organized, and the staff were especially helpful to senior citizens. Voters lined up properly, and by lunchtime, there were no more queues—everything went smoothly.

It’s almost laughable how mainstream media keeps focusing on the negatives: election-related violence, malfunctioning voting machines, submission errors, and complaints from senior citizens. But why can’t they also report that, by any measure, this election was three times better and significantly cleaner than the last—Thank you, COMELEC!

The Filipino Youth Vote

The Philippines is one of only two countries in the world where 50% of the population is 25 years old or younger. In the 2025 elections, it was the youth who played a major role in electing the senators—and they will be the ones choosing the next president in 2028. Our boys didn’t vote this year, but by 2028, Aidan, Joshua, and Raphael will be first-time voters. We’re already teaching them not just how to vote, but who—and who not—to vote for.

Dr. Jose Rizal was right: the future of the Philippines lies in the hands of its youth.

Final Thoughts

We have many Gen X friends who have given up on the Philippines. They encourage their children to study abroad and migrate, believing the country is beyond hope. I disagree. We’re choosing to give the Philippines a fighting chance—especially with God on our side, our Gen Z kids ready to make a difference, and good politicians and government officials who genuinely want to serve the nation.

There is hope in every vote. Congratulations to everyone who participated in making the 2025 elections clean and successful. I dislike the term “silent majority” used by the opposition last year, but there truly is strength in every voice. Social media is alive with people speaking up—even the masa is finding its voice and learning from past mistakes. Though some still need guidance from voting bokloks into office — the change has already begun.

Let’s vote for an Awesome Philippines in 2028.
