Denny's PH

Denny’s is America’s 24/7 diner famous for their affordable all-day breakfast menu.

Founded by Harold Butler, Denny’s opened its doors in 1953 with its first store in California and has grown into 1600 stores located in Canada, Mexico, Latin America, United Arab Emirates, and now for the first time, the Philippines via The Bistro Group.

Their hearty all-time menu items include the Original Grand Slam, pancakes, skillets, and burgers. The Manila branch, however, will be adding several Pinoy favorites on the menu designed by Chef Josh Boutwood.

Denny’s Manila opens its doors on October 7th at 6am and will be always open moving forward.

Here’s what to expect…

Denny’s is located at the street level of Uptown Parade beside Uptown Mall and The Palace in BGC.

The diner will be open 24/7 and is the perfect place to hang out after partying at the city’s biggest clubbing complex. 😉

The Original Grand Slam (P375)Buttermilk pancakes, two bacon strips, two sausages, and two eggs.

A grand slam is a baseball term meaning a four-base hit.

Their buttermilk pancake recipe includes eggs, fresh buttermilk, and a hint of vanilla–resulting in the silky and extra puffy pancakes we love. The salty bacon and eggs go well with the sweetness of the pancakes.

If you’re a big eater, you may want to try the Lumberjack, which is the bigger version of the Original Grand Slam.

Choco Overload Peanut Butter Pancake (P395)Chocolate chips and white chocolate chips inside two buttermilk pancakes, topped with hot fudge and drizzled with peanut butter sauce. Served with two eggs plus two strips of bacon and hashbrown/fries.

For a more decadent experience, this pancake filled with rich chocolate fudge and black & white choco chips topped with a sweet peanut butter sauce that’s sure to satisfy your sweet chocolatey craving. The kids will definitely love this!

The Grand Slamwich (P395)Two scrambled eggs, crumbled sausage, bacon, shaved ham, and American cheese on potato bread grilled with a maple spice spread. Served with hashbrowns/fries.

This was our favorite. The Grand Slamwich is Denny’s iconic Grand Slam Breakfast slapped between two slices of maple-spiced bread.

Having it as a sandwich tastes even better. And we loved their fries! Perfect for taking with you on the road.

French Toast Slam (P375)Two thick slices of our fabulous French toast with two eggs, two bacon strips, and two sausages.

The thick soft slices of French toast are a delight to eat–crispy round edges with a custardy center then drizzled with sweet maple syrup.

It goes well with a bit of the bacon, sausages, and eggs.

Denny's-4.jpg
Zesty Nachos (P395). Tortilla chips, cooked fresh to order, topped with pepper jack queso, shredded cheddar cheese, seasoned nacho meat, freshly made pico de gallo, and sour cream.

The nachos were just OK…nothing remarkable.

Crispy Bangus Belly (P325)Pan-fried Bangus belly served with egg, garlic rice, and vinegar dip.

It’s great that they also serve classic Pinoy breakfasts like Tocino, Tapa, and Arroz Caldo, made by Chef Josh of The Bistro Group.

For this particular dish, you get a generous portion of succulent boneless bangus fillet with a crispy and nicely browned finish.

Denny's-17.jpg
Beef Tapa (P325). Thin slices of beef cured in old-style Tapa marination. Served with egg and garlic rice.

The portion size is a bit small and expensive if you compare it with other tapa places.

Denny's PH
Skillet Wrap (P325)Seasoned nacho meat, rice, and freshly made pico de gallo wrapped in a flour tortilla with pepper jack cheese sauce. Topped with a sunny-side-up egg.

Like a breakfast burrito on a skillet.

Overall, the dish was good but needed a little bit more of a kick.

Denny's-6.jpg
Chicken Cranberry Apple Salad (P395)Grilled seasoned chicken breast, glazed pecans, apple slices, and dried cranberries atop a bed of spring mix. Tossed in honey balsamic vinaigrette.

This is a salad I could eat all day! Savor a seriously tasty salad with sweet, sour, salty, and nutty flavors all in one bowl.

Sausage and Pepper Skillet (P395)A combination of Beddar with cheddar sausage and English bangers mixed with fire-roasted bell peppers tossed with brown gravy.

English sausages are usually served at breakfast. The outside is crispy and tight while the inside is juicy, soft, and very flavorful.

The Beddar was an awesome combination of cheese and sausage!

Pancetta Sandwich (P295)Pancetta, garlic cheese spread, and sunny-side up egg on a bed of caramelized onions and toasted sourdough bread.

The smoked pork belly was pretty good, but the caramelized onions were quite overwhelming.

Denny's PH

Spicy Sriracha Burger (P495)A sriracha seasoned, hand-pressed beef patty, topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, pickled jalapenos, creamy sriracha sauce, lettuce, tomato, red onions, served on a brioche bun and a side of fries.

One of our spicy favorites. The sriracha sauce and jalapenos give you a bit of a kick.

The spiciness isn’t overwhelming. There’s just an instant burst of hotness, which goes away relatively quickly.

Denny's PH

Ribeye Philly Melt (P425). Juicy ribeye with sauteed mushrooms, roasted bell peppers, onions, shredded Italian cheeses, and pepper jack queso. Served on a hoagie roll grilled with garlic cheese spreads. Served with fries.

We liked the flavors from the savory cheese sauce and sauteed shitake mushrooms, but found the rib eye in need of a bit more seasoning.

Apple Ginger (P135)

Our favorite drink is the fresh Apple Ginger. We love the benefits and the taste of the sweet and spicy flavors of this juice!

Denny's PH

Mojito (P175)

We also liked the mojito. It was nicely tart with a good minty and tangy finish, with just a little punch from the rum.

Denny's-16.jpg
Chocolate Milk Shake (P205). Enjoy a full glass of our thick, creamy, hand-dipped milkshakes made with premium ice cream and topped with whipped cream.

We like how the milkshake isn’t too thick. They even give you the extra portion on a shaker.

Denny's-20.jpg

We love that Denny’s famous Slam menu is finally here in Manila and available for hungry patrons 24/7. We also liked that they added some menu items to cater to the Pinoy taste.

For starters, we recommend the Chicken Cranberry Apple Salad, and for something that’s classic Denny’s, order the Original Grand Slam Breakfast, Grand Slamwich, or their Sriracha Burger. If you’re craving for Filipino fare, go for the Crispy Bangus Belly. Don’t forget to pair your meal with their fresh Apple Ginger Juice!

Budget about P500/head.

Congratulations to The Bistro Group for bringing Denny’s to Manila!
