I was skeptical in visiting the Makati branch of Galileo Enoteca which opened 6 months ago in Pasong Tamo. I love the original branch and I did not know if the Makati branch will live up to expectations. It was a two storey establishment and it has the same cramped cozy cellar type of ambiance that we love. It is still owned by the Vittrano(?) family and you should meet the lovely Vanessa.
It lives up to its name Enoteca which is italian for a wine bar, a serious place for great wine and food with the company of friends and family. Usually you eat here as a group and you preorder a family style serving of the food for P500/head. We tried eating ala carte this time, and we got single servings of the pasta, and dishes. It ended up at P500/head also. We love Galileo despite the fact that the food could be inconsistent at times…
We were seated in the cramped first floor. Only thing in this area is that people pass by all the time to go up to the second floor. So when you reserve here, ensure to specify the second floor tables!
It was cool to go up through this narrow stairs leading to the second floor.
It was a really nice setup. You get transported into a cellar ambiance conducive for reunions, gatherings, or a family night out.
It is like a deli which carries a huge selection of meat, cheese and other imported products.

Antipasto Platter of Cold Cuts and Cheese (P250++). This is always a good starter and I love the Grana Padano cheese!
Insalata Caprese (Fresh Mozzarella with Tomatoes and Basil) (P390++)
Don’t leave Galileo without trying the Fresh Mozzarella! At first it taste like the kesong puti in laguna which is bland and almost gelatine like texture. It goes very well with tomatoes, basil, olive oil and peppers.
Baked Lumaconi con Spinach (Pasta Stuffed with Spinach & Ricotta Cheese) (P290++)
You’ll never go wrong with spinach and ricotta cheese. Order this if available.
Risotto (P300++) . Quite disappointing because the risotto was really hard in texture and lacks the flavor we were expecting.
Set Meal B: Eggplant Parmeggiana and Chicken with Capers (P400++) with a glass of wine and soup
You can order their set meal, which is more expensive that the P350 I was used to when the original branch opened. Somehow, it felt like the chicken was overcooked, overheated and not as fresh as the other ala carte meals.
Spaghetti con Pesto di Olive Nere (Olive Oil-based pesto of Black Olives) (P290++) Decent and healthy.
Farfalle Carbonara Classica (Bowtie Pasta Stir-fried with Eggs and Ham) (P290++). This was a unanimous winner as well. The bowtie pasta was cooked al dente and you gotta eat it with the flavorful ham bits.

Cioco Delise Hot Chocolate (P120++). One of the best chocolates we ever tasted and it is marketed by name dropping Lucy Torres who allegedly raves about this chocolate. It was an italian chocolate that tasted full and milky but not too sweet (which is the best part). We love the spanish chocolate in Portico and will blog about it soon.

Rachel’s late lola made the best asado siopao I have ever tasted and have not found any that could equal it. We are from the family of the kabilang bahay of her lola 🙂 small world! Good thing I saw the pictures here of your in-laws.
